We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Journeyman Electrician/Inspector Trainee to join our team of professionals. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. You'll be a member of our highly respected team of professionals with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Perform field inspections during various stages of construction
* Read and examine plans and specifications when required
* Report violations and maintain files/records
* Perform other related duties as required
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
* Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology
* Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions
* Must possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills
* Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
* CO Journeyman or Master Electrician License required
* ICC Electrical Inspector Certification preferred
* Additional ICC certifications are a plus
* Electrician experience required
* Experience in municipal code inspections preferred
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Valid driver's license with a good driving record
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Mobility & Movement:
* Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, crawling, or kneeling to conduct inspections.
* Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, or unfinished stairways to access roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and other elevated or confined areas.
* Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving objects up to 25-50 pounds (e.g., inspection tools, plans, or small equipment).
Vision & Hearing:
* Visual acuity sufficient to read construction plans, technical documents, and observe construction details.
* Ability to detect safety hazards and defects through visual and auditory inspection.
* Hearing sufficient to communicate with contractors, workers, and the public in noisy environments.
Manual Dexterity:
* Use of hands and fingers to handle tools, operate inspection equipment, and use computers/tablets for reporting.
Work Environment:
* Work performed in both office and field settings.
* Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) and construction site environments (noise, dust, uneven terrain).
* Frequent driving between inspection sites and company locations within a region.

Performs journey-level preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems independently. Demonstrates technical understanding of electrical systems, including troubleshooting complex issues and understanding of code requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Travels independently to perform detailed electrical tasks on construction and remodeling projects, including the installation of conduit, electrical boxes, motors, receptacles, switches, light fixtures, and cable pulling.
* Operates various technical test instruments, such as digital multimeters, clamp meters, circuit tracers, megohmmeters, thermal imagers, phase rotation meters, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) kits.
* Conducts inspections, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems.
* Inspects and verifies that all lights, fixtures, ballasts, wiring, panel boards, breakers, switches, and controls are functioning properly, making any necessary repairs.
* Performs electrical demolition work, involving the removal of old wiring and electrical equipment.
* Provides recommendations for replacing systems.
* Estimates time and materials for projects and maintains records of associated costs.
* Assists with projects in other trades, such as HVAC.
* Performs additional tasks as assigned, including filling in for other staff as necessary and/or required.
WHAT YOU HAVE
EDUCATION:
* High School Diploma or GED equivalency required
EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum of two (2) years or more of professional work in the Electrical field required
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
* Current and Active Journeyman Electrician License obtain from The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) under the Colorado Electrical Board, or a Local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) required upon hire
* Valid Driver's License required upon hire
* Valid Colorado Driver's License required within 60-days of hire
* Must successfully pass a background check.
