Position Overview and Responsibilities:
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, hard-working individual with experience working with cultural resource management tactics and best practices, operating and maintaining gas and diesel equipment, utilizing various hand and power tools, and have strong communication skills to fill a Park Services Specialist position at Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park. This position is responsible for providing visitor services, maintenance, protection, administration and resource management. The applicant will serve as the project coordinator by providing training, direction, and leadership to staff, volunteers and AmeriCorps members to accomplish cultural resource work projects. The applicant must possess good visitor services, be able to work independently and have the ability to perform a variety of skilled trade functions using assorted equipment and tools. The applicant must be able to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
VISITOR SERVICES - Meets visitors, answer questions, provides information and directions. Interprets park resources and the need for their preservation. Attempts to resolve visitor complaints while maintaining good public relations. Plans and conducts community outreach activities to expand public understanding of the Florida Park Service resource management and protection objectives. Represents the park and Florida Park Service to outside agencies and organizations, disseminating information and promoting outdoor recreation opportunities provided by the park. Participates in guided walks, plant care workshops, tours, recreational skills programs, special events and other interpretive activities. Collects fees, operates cash register/point of sale system in accordance with the direction established by the Bureau of Finance and Accounting and the Park Revenue Collection Procedures.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT - Observes, maintains and protects the natural, cultural, historic and archaeological resources of the park. Implements vegetation and wildlife management plans, maintains optimum species control via natural and chemical means. Participates in resource management projects including prescribed burning, invasive species removal, reforestation, plant community restoration, erosion control, pest species control and native wildlife management. Participates in planning and conducting resource management activities by implementing resource management techniques required to manage and restore natural and cultural resources. Assists in the development of resource inventories and management plans. Candidate researches the history of the park, both natural and cultural, maintains natural and cultural resource files, coordinates and participates in planning for appropriate preservation of cultural resources, and participates in implementation of such plans. Recognizes biological communities and the natural processes required for their maintenance. Serves as the project coordinator by providing direction and leadership to staff, volunteers and AmeriCorps members to accomplish natural and cultural resource work projects.
MAINTENANCE - Maintains park structures, facilities, equipment and grounds through routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance practices. Conducts routine inspections to ensure proper maintenance standards are met. Operates equipment, power and hand tools related to plumbing, carpentry, electrical, masonry, landscaping, etc. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment and assigned vehicles daily. Communicates equipment and facility maintenance needs to management. Constructs, maintains and repairs small buildings, fences, trails, service roads, fire lanes, boardwalks, picnic sites, and all other necessary facilities, including historic structures. Operates a variety of equipment including chainsaws, lawn mowers, tractors and motor vehicles. Maintains cleanliness of grounds and facilities.
ADMINISTRATION - Prepares a wide variety of reports, forms and logs related to all aspects of park operations. Answers the telephone, operates a park radio, uses computers with Florida Park Service software and various office equipment. Provides research, development, and library of funding sources for the park via corporate/foundation and public support entities including grant funding efforts. Designs and implements public marketing relations program to encourage corporate/foundation and private support of the park.
PROTECTION - Ensures park rules are enforced pertaining to all natural, historical and archeological facilities and resources and use thereof for the enjoyment of the visitor. Maintains cleanliness of grounds and facilities. Ensures all aspects of security and safety are maintained.
OTHER - Performs other related duties as required.

Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park (1,184 acres) is located in Leon County within the city limits of Tallahassee with a recreation area, trail system and a 28-acre masterpiece of floral architecture.
The beautiful ornamental gardens were first planted in 1923 by Alfred B. and Louise Maclay after they purchased the property for their winter home. The gardens feature a picturesque brick walkway, secret garden, reflection pool, walled garden, and hundreds of camellias and azaleas. Peak blooming season is from January 1 through April 30, with the floral peak in mid-to-late March.

The Work You Will Do:
The Career Development Technician (CDT) position works primarily to provide and direct customer service and support. Serves as the District's coordinator, liaison, and technical advisor to local, city and county governments, as well as other public agencies for Large Urban, Small Urban and/or Rural public or private transportation programs in District Two. Determines compliance with system safety and security compliance reviews for Large Urban, Small Urban and/or Rural public or private transit operations. In accordance with the Florida Statute Chapter 427, functions as a liaison to the local Transportation Disadvantaged Coordinating Boards and attend our teleconference meetings to maintain standing with these county boards. Provides technical support to public, private, and non-profit agencies serving citizens with specialized needs. Assists prospective applicants in developing grant requests relating to the FTA programs for Sections 5310, 5311 and 5339 including applications in TransCIP. Provides technical assistance in the procurement of capital items by assisting local agencies with specifications or procurement procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Determines safety compliance of transportation service providers by conducting on-site inspection of both vehicles and agency/provider files to determine adherence to Chapter 14-90 regulations, other state regulations, FTA procedures and agency adopted directives. Participates with other Modal Development Team members participating in such reviews.
Provides oversight into safety and security plans prepared by rural/urban transit agencies as well as performing as a liaison to such agencies for the purposes of development of those plans, conducting reviews and comment on such plans, and coordinating approval of those plans with the Florida Department of Transportation Central Office. Participates with other Modal Development Team members in conducting on-site security reviews, investigating incidents, monitoring agency responses to incidents and providing incident reports as may be needed. Coordinates with the Florida Department of Transportation Central Office on annual safety and security certifications for urban/rural transit agencies.
Develops and executes Public Transportation Grant Agreements, contracts, contract extensions, or supplemental agreements relating to projects or programs under this position. Prepares and processes encumbrance requests to establish funding for approved projects. Reviews and approves transit agency invoices on a timely basis to facilitate payment. Adequately maintains all project files to withstand an impromptu Federal or State audit. Initiates requests for project closings.
Conduct Charter Report and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise compliance review and reporting for all transit systems receiving Section 5310, 5311, and 5339 funds in District Two. Prepare a report on each and collect and submit required information to Central Office as needed or directed. Provide technical assistance, maintain all files on Charter Report and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise compliance. Actively monitor the compliance of service providers with current regulations, FTA approved procedures, and agency adopted directives/policies.
Reviews and provides written comments on proposed changes to Florida Department of Transportation policies and procedures which relate to rural/urban public transportation, proposed federal regulations affecting Section 5310, 5311 and 5339 programs, or federal or state legislation affecting substance abuse, safety or security. Reviews, coordinates and provides comments on Unified Planning Work Programs, Transit Development Plans, Transit Improvement Programs and Long Range Transportation Plans when needed or requested.

This position will work cooperatively with the program managers and medical staff in the HIV/Aids (Specialty Care) Program under the direction of the Senior Community Health Nursing Supervisor. This position provides HIV/STD counseling and testing, follow up and referral services focused on CDC reported target populations. This position will collaborate and assist clinic staff in providing HIV/STD counseling and testing for scheduled and walk-in patients.
Performs Laboratory duties as needed, including but not limited to:
* Perform blood draws and tests on urine specimens including dipstick urinalysis, pregnancy, drug screen, and Chlamydia/Gonorrhea as ordered by the provider utilizing established procedures and record appropriate results in client's record.
* Draw blood in the correct tubes, enter correct client information into computer, and send specimens to the correct lab.
* Properly process and prepare specimens for transport, file lab reports, and follow up on missing/late lab reports.
* Provides HIV pre and post-test counseling in the Patient Care Clinic as needed in anonymous and confidential clinics.
* Documents the risk of infection and pre and post-test counseling according to current protocols.
* Reports all post-test counseling on HIV positive patients and their contacts to the STD Program according to current protocols.
* Completes required counseling/interview forms, investigative forms, reports and other paperwork associated with pre and post- test counseling.

Overview:
The Florida Gaming Control Commission is responsible for exercising all regulatory and executive powers of the state with respect to legal gaming, including pari-mutuel wagering, cardrooms, slot machine facilities, oversight of gaming compacts, and other forms of gambling authorized by state law, excluding the Lottery, as well as directly enforcing Florida's gaming laws and combatting illegal gambling activities.
The agency is overseen by five Commissioners who are appointed by the Governor, with Commissioners appointing an Executive Director who leads a team of nearly 200 staff members. The mission of the Florida Gaming Control Commission is to preserve and protect the integrity of gaming activities through fair regulation, licensing, effective criminal investigation, and enforcement.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:
* Reviews pari-mutuel, cardroom, and slot machine occupational and business license applications to ensure accuracy, completeness and applicant eligibility, and takes corrective action as necessary. Verifies and notifies appropriate division personnel of applications that are ready for approval.
* Answers general public and field personnel inquiries regarding pari-mutuel, cardroom, and slot machine occupational licensing laws, rules and/or policies and procedures. Responds to customer inquiries assigned through the OnBase Escalation system within a twenty-four hour time period.
* Creates cash batches for occupational license fees on a daily basis. Assures cash batches are hand delivered to the Commission's revenue processing section daily. Escalates issues with deposits and batches to the Licensing Administrator and/or Chief of Operations as needed.
* Documents all licensing related errors/problems in a monthly statistical report delivered to the Licensing Administrator, Chief of Operations, and all PMW Regional Managers.
* Handles all debit memoranda for payments for pari-mutuel and cardroom occupational licenses deemed "non-sufficient funds" by the bank. Maintains records of all completed and outstanding debits.
* Processes all refund requests for the Licensing Administrator's review and approval. Takes appropriate action in the Commission's licensing database.
* Reconciles the daily Auto Apply Cash reports. Ensures fees are assigned properly in the licensing database.
* Reviews the Unassigned Cash report on a monthly basis. Assigns the fees when possible; documents fees that cannot be assigned.
* Reports any discrepancies or errors with the Commission's licensing database to the Licensing Administrator and creates IT tickets when necessary. Assists with the testing of configuration changes made to the licensing database.
* Processes National Racing Compact license applications.
* Monitors the issuance of license form control numbers and addresses any discrepancies.
* Assists the Licensing Administrator with the maintenance of licensing procedural manuals for occupational licenses. Assists the Licensing Administrator with preparing training materials for field licensing staff and in-house employees as needed.
* Performs special projects and duties as assigned by the Licensing Administrator and the Chief of Operations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Must have computer skills to effectively utilize Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Internet Explorer software programs and competency in the operation of standard desktop computers, laser printers, and optical scanners.
* Ability to operate contemporary desktop computers, laser printers, and optical scanners.

* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations, laws, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
* Five (5) years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering, or administrative work, of which one (1) of the years of experience must be reviewing and/or researching licensure applications to determine eligibility for the approval of occupational or professional licenses.
* An associate degree can substitute for two (2) of the required years of professional experience. A bachelor's degree can substitute for four (4) of the required years of professional experience.

* Preference will be given to individuals fluent in both English and Spanish.
* Preference will be given to individuals with experience in the Pari-Mutuel Wagering industry.

* Coordinates, schedules, and provides Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) in both clinic and field settings.
* Initiates or assists with Tuberculosis (TB) contact investigations; locates and facilitates contacts to be evaluated by arranging for testing as appropriate; data collection by screening for symptoms for active disease; and interviewing clients and contacts to identify priority risk factors by obtaining medical, family and lifestyle histories by observation and interview. Reports status of each contact to the Nurse Case Manager (NCM). Transports clients as needed.
* Actively attempts to locate lost or non-adherent clients by telephone, home visits and other field investigation activities. Initiates corrective actions to re-establish services at the direction of the NCM. Reports on the status of each client to the NCM as needed and directed.
* Performs basic testing for TB Program clients to include planting and reading Tuberculosis Skin Test (TSTs), sputum inductions, HIV counseling and testing, and phlebotomy.
* Provides education to clients and others about TB and related topics.
* Collects and records TB data into Health Management System (HMS) electronic health record or patient chart and assists with TB reports and Quality Improvement (QI) as directed.
* Assists with coordination of respiratory fit testing program to include performing fit testing and documenting results in employee health chart and maintenance of fit testing database.
* Sets up and maintains remote video monitoring equipment to facilitate DOT. Maintains documentation on video monitoring equipment assignment.
* Provides back up in clinic area performing consultations on suspect/active cases, symptom screenings on previously infected clients, TST's and other-directed clinic assignments.
* Complete administrative duties such as cell phone verification forms, travel logs for mileage accountability, reimbursement timesheets, employee activity records (EARS), attendance of general and department staff meetings, required trainings.
