DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Mechanic Supervisor to develop the necessary skills for safe and efficient work in an automotive garage environment. You will learn essential techniques for general welding, as well as repairs and maintenance on cars and light trucks. Your responsibilities will include assisting with various repairs and maintenance tasks, utilizing power, hand, and air tools once you have demonstrated proficiency. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain cleanliness in your work area and care for tools and equipment. It is important to ask questions whenever you encounter uncertainties or new challenges, and to consistently practice safety procedures.
You will gain foundational knowledge in general repair and preventative maintenance, including welding and automotive diagnostics. This role involves documenting repairs, comprehending work orders, and learning the proper handling, usage, care, and storage of tools and equipment. Safety is paramount, and you will be trained to observe and implement safety protocols in the garage, including procedures for hazardous materials and equipment. Soft skills such as punctuality, responsibility, and accountability are also essential, along with completing time sheets and utilizing computer diagnostics. You may assist more experienced tradespeople with complex repairs and may be required to travel to various work sites and participate in field activities across the District and the state. If the student is a minor, the student will be driven by the supervisor or staff member for any travel within the workday.

Senior enrolled in High School 2025-2026 - The internship would be available through the 2025-2026 school year.
Junior enrolled in High School 2025-2026 - The internship would go through the 2025-2026 school year, summer 2026, and 2026-2027 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS
Internship Requirements:
You must be at least 16 years of age at time of hire.
You must be a junior or senior enrolled in high school during the 2025 - 2026 school year.
Additional Requirements:
Letter of Recommendation: You must attach a Letter of Recommendation from your school's co-op coordinator, career or guidance counselor, or similar designated school professional indicating you meet your school's requirements and are being recommended for this opportunity.
By participating in this program, the student and school agree to use the Commonwealth's Training Plan, Statement of Responsibilities, and Student Performance Evaluation. Forms will be provided to the student upon acceptance of this position.
Work Permit: Minors will be required to submit their Work Permit upon acceptance of this position.
Must be a vo-tech (career and technical center) student in an approved
welding
vocational program that has provided preparation and training for the duties of this internship.

The Game Day Internship Program is designed for college students to explore careers in the sport industry while getting hands-on experience working with one of the most successful teams in Minor League Baseball. The IronPig's GDI Program will expose students to numerous game day roles and will allow students to learn from and work alongside IronPigs Front Office Staff members. By experiencing multiple departments, the GDI Program is designed to assist students in choosing which specific direction they are interested in.
Timeline:
The GDI program will begin at the end of March and will conclude in September. Interns are expected to be present for all IronPigs' games they are scheduled for. Although interns will not be scheduled to work 100% of the games, we are looking for qualified candidates that have open availability. We acknowledge that most colleges and universities do not end the school semester until May. The GDI Program is able to work with individuals that are still attending classes at that time.
Hours:
Game day report time is approximately 2.5 hours prior to first pitch (4:30PM for a standard 7:05PM game). GDI's will be dismissed shortly after the game ends when all responsibilities are finished.

+ Support analytical testing for product safety assessments across various adhesive technologies.
+ Assist in the development and validation of methods for sustainable adhesive solutions.
+ Operate and maintain advanced analytical instruments and contribute to data analysis
+ Participate in innovation projects focused on eco-friendly and high-performance adhesives

+ This internship is eligible for a housing stipend or relocation support.
+ Henkel's Summer 2026 internship program starts on May 27th, 2026, and runs through mid-August.
+ Recruitment for our 2026 internships starts in late August 2025 and runs through early March 2026 or until all our positions are filled.
