Pediatric Therapeutic Services (PTS) is seeking a Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS) to provide school-based services for a local school district in Nazareth, PA.
This role supports an elementary emotional support classroom and focuses on implementing behavioral strategies and supports to enhance student programming and effectively manage student behaviors. The position provides classroom-based support and is not a 1:1 assignment.

GENERAL PURPOSE
The Youth Care Worker position is responsible for the care and custody of children and youth who have been alleged and/or adjudicated delinquent and are residents of the Northampton County Juvenile Justice Center.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
This position reports directly to the Juvenile Justice Center Supervisor and/or higher level official in the County Juvenile Detention Facility.

This position exercises no supervision over other employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION
Provides for the care, activity and security for children and youth in the County Juvenile Justice Center.
Provides supervision, structure, and control of the residents throughout their daily routines.
Communicates with children and youth, discussing their concerns and interests to attempt to alleviate any adjustment or behavior problems.
Plans, conducts and participates in resident activities, including but not limited to instructional or recreational activities.
Inspects children and youth upon admission for cleanliness, freedom from disease and injuries.
Processes admissions, intakes, and discharges accompanied by conducting pat and/or strip searches during this process, and on an as needed basis.
Searches rooms and other facility areas for contraband.
Reacts to crisis situations in the facility, deescalating with residents and separating and/or implementing physical interventions or individual processing when necessary.
Transports and accompanies children and youth to other institutions, clinics, and foster homes.
Assesses issues of difficulty or potential problems and provides reports and recommends solutions to higher level staff.
Completes appropriate admission and discharge forms for residents.
Maintains records of shift activities, incidents and writes reporting concerning resident behavior.
May assist with orienting newly hired Youth Care Worker staff.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Completion of sixty (60) college credits at an accredited college or university in Social or Behavioral Sciences, or a related field of study. An Associate's Degree in Social or Behavioral Sciences, or a related field of study, is preferred; OR
At least one (1) year of full-time professional work experience with children in programs for juvenile offenders, corrections, law enforcement, residential and/or congregate care settings, residential treatment facilities, or inpatient behavioral/mental health programs; AND
Employees assigned to this title will be required to possess and maintain a valid and current motor vehicle driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Our Camp Counselor positions have the potential to serve as competitively paid internships that meet your course credit needs.
First and foremost, your primary responsibilities will be as a Camp Counselor. As an Intern, you will be expected to fulfill your regular daily job responsibilities and it will be up to you to complete your internship responsibilities and to ensure that they do not interfere with your work obligations. Contact your college advisor in advance and ask them if you can use your summer camp job as a practicum, internship or for other course credits. If KE Camps can meet your internship requirements, your on-site Camp Director will be your field supervisor and oversee your course work. You will also be connected to a KE Camps contact at our HQ in Skillman, NJ. To receive credit, you must complete the course, practicum or internship per your college's parameters and complete your summer employment.
As a Camp Counselor, you will be an active participant in all camp activities and will assist your Camp Director with a variety of daily tasks, all with the goal of creating a memorable and meaningful camp experience for your campers. Our Counselors interact with our campers throughout the entire day, helping them make friends, try new things, and generally caring for their well-being. The role of a Counselor is to participate, build relationships and have fun while ensuring the physical and emotional safety of every child.
Camp Counselor Qualities
Ability to help children grow in character, experiences and insights
Ability to guard the health and well-being of campers at all times
Capable of sustaining energy for participation in a full day's worth of activities
Prior experience working with children
Enthusiastic, Responsible, Dependable, Consistent, Level-Headed, Flexible, and Calm in all situations
CPR/First Aid Certified OR willing to become certified before the summer begins
Camp Counselor Responsibilities
Work with group of campers and provide a fun, safe and exciting camp experience
Cooperate with fellow Counselors and Camp Director
Greet families and campers upon arrival
Support Camp Director in establishing rules and emergency procedures with campers
Participate in all camp activities
Supervise daily swim time in a hands-on manner from within the water (lifeguard certification not required)
Help out where needed and lead activities when asked to by the Camp Director
Complete other duties, as assigned
