Description:
The Supervisor in the Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO) Program provides both administrative and clinical oversight for a specialized therapeutic foster care service line at The Guidance Center. This role ensures effective delivery of mental health services to children, therapeutic foster families, and biological families within the TFCO model. Responsibilities include clinical supervision, crisis intervention support, detailed documentation oversight, placement decisions, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. This position requires strong clinical judgment, advanced knowledge of the DSM, and the ability to remain calm and effective in crisis situations. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required based on program needs. Mileage reimbursement is provided when a personal vehicle is used.
Experience:
Minimum three (3) years of mental health experience with children and adolescents.
Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
Experience managing complex family systems, crisis response, and community-based interventions required.
Education:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Professional Counseling - Required.
Must hold one of the following active Michigan licenses: LMSW, LLP, or LPC.

The Foster Care Supervisor assumes responsibilities common to all supervisory positions as adopted by Oakland Family Services and described in the Agency Manual; provides management and performs specific requirements of programs under departmental jurisdiction; assures orderly procedures for translating Agency goals and values into practice; participates in development of program budgets; accounts for and enhances quality services to clients; and develops a context for the enrichment and growth of staff assigned to all programs within that department.
The Foster Care Supervisor will manage a team of foster care workers to ensure that services to children placed in Foster Care and their families are conductive to meeting their permanency goals. The Foster Care Supervisor will provide support to their staff to ensure protection and stabilization for children and to assist the families in developing and completing a successful permanency plan in a timely manner. The Foster Care Supervisor will display professional leadership and ensure that the highest level of quality services is being provided. Ensure that the program complies with the Division of Child Welfare Licensing regulations and COA Standards. The Foster Care Supervisor reports to the Director for Family Preservation.
The incumbent in this position provides staff training and development, leadership to ensure foster care/relative caregivers receive quality assessments and support.
Program Management

Monitor and support staff in compliance with all foster care service requirements as established by regulations.
Attend administrative, general and other required Agency or division staff meetings.
Communicate employee performance expectations, conduct new hire six-month evaluations and annual evaluations.
Attend regular individual supervisory sessions with the Director of Family Preservation and provide notification and feedback on all program activities, progress and problems.
Monitor, read and approve all required reports.

Assist as needed with foster care licensing/certification rules, re-licensing, complaints and adverse rulings.
Assist with intakes as needed; review placements and referral paperwork as needed.
Process cases overseeing children in foster care, arranging visitations, counseling both parents, supporting foster parents, attending court, contacting schools and attending school conferences, and ensuring that the foster children make their medical appointments.
Assist Licensing as needed with coordinating recruitment, orientation and training of foster parents.

III. BASIC COMPETENCIES
Education and Experience:
The foster care supervisor will be a seasoned and mature leader with broad child welfare experience, ideally beginning in foster care and/or licensing, followed up with knowledge and understanding of other child welfare programs and services offered throughout Michigan.
Master's degree in a human behavioral science such as Social Work or a related discipline where 25% of the course credits earned toward the degree are in human behavior science.
Two (2) years' experience as a case worker in a social services agency required.
Child Welfare Training Institute required, with preference for CWTI Supervisory training completed.
Must meet the State's Moral Character standard.
Knowledge Requirements:
Computer and software applications (All MS Office, LMS and MiSACWIS).
Principles and practices of social work, including the NASW Code of Ethic or related fields of study/profession.

Major Responsibilities:
A. Case Planning/Service Delivery: The Foster Care Worker completes initial and ongoing assessments in regard to the needs of the family and the child in order to move toward a permanency plan in a timely manner.
The Foster Care Worker assesses the needs of the child and family and develops an effective treatment plan based upon petition allegations.
The Foster Care Worker makes reasonable efforts to locate resources and connect the family to those resources in a timely manner.
The Foster Care Worker assesses and meets the needs and/or requests of foster parents in a timely and efficient manner.
The Foster Care Worker participates in any trainings as required by State licensing standards or as required by the Agency.
B. Documentation: The Foster Care Worker documents all case-related activities in the Michigan Statewide Automated Child Welfare System (MiSACWIS) according to the Department of Health and Human Services policy. The Foster Care Worker also submits all case-related documents in the case file as required by Orchards Children's Services and DCWL policy.
The Foster Care Worker completes an Initial Service Plan within 30 days of each child's placement into foster care for each child/family assigned. An Updated Service Plan is completed every 90 days thereafter. All reports accurately reflect activity on the case and are submitted in a timely manner. Additional reports, including court reports, replacement reports, termination summaries and any other required reports are completed as necessary. Foster Care Worker ensures that signatures are obtained from all case participants according to policy.
Social Work contacts/progress notes are completed in detail in regard to each contact made by the worker. All social work contacts are entered into MiSACWIS according to policy and are submitted for filing on a weekly basis.
Foster Home Visit and Birth Home Visit forms are fully completed during each monthly visit and are signed by the foster parent/birth parent. Foster/Birth Home Visit forms are submitted to the Foster Care Director upon completion.
C. Communication: The Foster Care Worker communicates effectively and professionally, both verbally in written form, with all team members.
Information is presented to the Court in the form of written reports, as well as verbal testimony in a clear and concise manner, which meets the requirements of the Court.
Information is effectively and accurately communicated to members of the team within Orchards, as well as to external customers, ie. Department of Health and Human Services, etc.
The Foster Care Worker responds to any and all crisis situations in a calm and professional manner and demonstrates the ability to effectively meet the needs of the parties involved.
The Foster Care Worker acts as back-up for staff as needed to ensure appropriate service delivery.
The Foster Care Worker meets a minimum of weekly with the Foster Care Supervisor for supervision to review individual case progress and obtain direction on individual cases. The worker also participates in any other staff meetings, agency meetings, or projects as required.
The Foster Care Worker conducts and documents Family Team Meetings as required by DHHS policy, with all parties, in order to convey case status information.

Our Camp Counselor positions have the potential to serve as competitively paid internships that meet your course credit needs.
First and foremost, your primary responsibilities will be as a Camp Counselor. As an Intern, you will be expected to fulfill your regular daily job responsibilities and it will be up to you to complete your internship responsibilities and to ensure that they do not interfere with your work obligations. Contact your college advisor in advance and ask them if you can use your summer camp job as a practicum, internship or for other course credits. If KE Camps can meet your internship requirements, your on-site Camp Director will be your field supervisor and oversee your course work. You will also be connected to a KE Camps contact at our HQ in Skillman, NJ. To receive credit, you must complete the course, practicum or internship per your college's parameters and complete your summer employment.
As a Camp Counselor, you will be an active participant in all camp activities and will assist your Camp Director with a variety of daily tasks, all with the goal of creating a memorable and meaningful camp experience for your campers. Our Counselors interact with our campers throughout the entire day, helping them make friends, try new things, and generally caring for their well-being. The role of a Counselor is to participate, build relationships and have fun while ensuring the physical and emotional safety of every child.
Camp Counselor Qualities
* Ability to help children grow in character, experiences and insights
* Ability to guard the health and well-being of campers at all times
* Capable of sustaining energy for participation in a full day's worth of activities
* Prior experience working with children
* Enthusiastic, Responsible, Dependable, Consistent, Level-Headed, Flexible, and Calm in all situations
* CPR/First Aid Certified OR willing to become certified before the summer begins
Camp Counselor Responsibilities
* Work with group of campers and provide a fun, safe and exciting camp experience
* Cooperate with fellow Counselors and Camp Director
* Greet families and campers upon arrival
* Support Camp Director in establishing rules and emergency procedures with campers
* Participate in all camp activities
* Supervise daily swim time in a hands-on manner from within the water (lifeguard certification not required)
* Help out where needed and lead activities when asked to by the Camp Director
* Complete other duties, as assigned
