Job Description
JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Track all scheduled project tasks on internal and external reporting systems through to their completion.
Assign work when appropriate and insure the finished product is done accurately and timely.
Conduct interviews and arrange meetings with the relevant areas of the Bank to determine needs and requirements.
Ensure that proper documentation is compiled for all projects.
Manage the performance of the analysts in his area.
Manage the IT budgetary process.

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good PC skills, including some familiarity of project management software.

Department Overview:
The Americas Division (“AD”) was established in the Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited, New York Branch) (“SMTBNY”) to perform corporate functions and supervise U.S. entities. Established under the AD are the “Global Banking Unit (“GBU”), Americas Division” and “Global Markets Unit (“GMU”), Americas Division” which performs business functions. The Information Technology Department (“ITD”) provides the users of the Branch's information systems with sufficient and appropriate system resources and functionality to complete their day-to-day business and keeps security and consistency of the important information that is stored in the systems.
Your Role Overview
This is a joint position shared between two sections of the I.T. department: The Infrastructure section and then Application section.
Infrastructure Side
Primarily responsible for our HPE NonStop Tandem systems (PROD, DR, DEV).
Application Side
Train on and provide support for a Tandem-hosted General Ledger banking application.
Knowledgeable of day-to-day activities, resolves complex issues where expertise is required to interpret policies, guidelines, and practice. May be considered a subject matter expert for one or more functions or processes. Focus on operational execution and occasional broader planning within areas of expertise.
Your Duties and Responsibilities:
Senior Engineer (IT Infrastructure Engineer (Tandem Engineer))
Responsible for administration, development, maintenance, tuning and production support for HPE NonStop systems (Tandem). Such responsibilities include pathway configuration and optimization for a large General Ledger system.
Provides technical support for the network, security, and monitoring of several distributed Tandem nonstop environments.
Acts as a subject matter expert for the HPE NonStop system, as well as all adjacent systems (ESKM, OutsideView, etc.).
Trains and mentors other members of the IT department as necessary for Tandem-related matters.
Handles daily system/backup checks on Tandem production system.
Creates action plans and performs upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities on Tandem.
Updates procedures and documentation based on system changes.
Helps to plan and operate disaster recovery tests on Tandem system, both within the NY branch with other Atlas branches.
Acts as the liaison to communicate and coordinate with other relevant teams for all matters related to Tandem.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Senior Engineer (Applications)
Expected to train on Tandem-based General Ledger System (ATLAS). Ultimately responsible for administration, development, maintenance, and production support for General Ledger System (Atlas), including performing application software changes and patching.
Assists business units and IT in understanding the design and use of Atlas
Participates in new projects and cooperates with other project / department members re. Atlas development and support.
Responsible for writing and maintaining software program documentation and procedure manuals for Atlas.
Acts as the liaison to communicate and coordinate with other relevant teams for all matters related to ATLAS.
Functions as a business analyst when required, with direct communication to Business Lines.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Your Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a Tandem Engineer and/or Atlas Engineer.
3+ years experience working in Banking
Advanced knowledge of HP Tandem Nonstop System and/or Atlas.
Advanced knowledge of Enform, Guardian OS, Viewpoint, Viewsys, Pathcom, Mediacom, Batchcom, RDFCOM, SPOOLCOM, and IRS
Knowledge of SECOM, Telemail, SecureTape, VLE, ESKM key manager, and OutsideView
Functional working knowledge of a broad scope of financial products
Good organization and multi-tasking skills.
Project Management skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
