Reporting to the Associate Director- Architectural Trades & Auto Services, the Facilities Maintenance Mechanic, assigned to the Carpentry Shop within the Maintenance & Operations unit of Facilities Development & Operations, works independently or as a team member under the general supervision of the Facilities Project Supervisor. The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic performs the full range of skilled journey level carpentry and metalworking trades along with strong skills in other trade areas to perform a variety of skilled preventive and general maintenance, repair, construction and renovation work on building and infrastructure systems. Assemble new and repaired equipment to meet quality standards. Document repair, testing, and assembly activities including failure analysis, parts used, and labor hours. Perform inventory control tasks such as stocking, pulling parts, and cycle counting. Communicate with customers for technical support, troubleshooting, and repair quoting. Disassemble, clean, and evaluate parts for reuse or replacement. Prepare surfaces and paint assemblies and parts. Stamp and tag nameplates accurately. Package and ship parts, including crating when necessary. Conduct final inspections and complete inspection reports. Sign and document compliance sheets. Follow all safety protocols and company regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Support other team members and perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: 1-3 years of experience in a related mechanical or industrial role. Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes. Basic computer skills for documentation and communication. Job Description Millennium Power Services is seeking a Seasonal Valve Technician Helper to support our valve service team during peak operational periods, with a home base in Westfield, MA and travel to customer sites as needed. This temporary, hands-on role is ideal for individuals with mechanical aptitude who are looking to gain experience in industrial valve service and field work. As a Seasonal Valve Technician Helper, you will assist experienced technicians with the inspection, maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial valves. This role focuses on providing practical, on-the-job support while following established safety and quality standards. The position requires flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment. This role includes travel to customer sites, where you will support valve service activities across various industries. Both shop and field assignments are expected. Qualifications and Skills: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in valve technology is a plus. Proven experience as a Valve Technician or in a related field. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with different types of valves and their applications. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Proficient in using precision tools and instruments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
