As a member of the project staff, superintendents are responsible for overseeing field construction in specified areas. They are expected to implement and enforce all relevant safety and quality control policies and procedures while working with the project management staff to accomplish the project goals. Pay Rate: $130,000 - 145,000 per year; based on experience Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities: Schedule Oversee and manage work to ensure it is executed in line with contract documents, project timelines, and the planned sequence of activities. Foster positive working relationships with subcontractors, Global's customers, General Contractors, Engineers, Suppliers, and Government Officials. Handle disagreements professionally and amicably. Be able to disagree without being disagreeable. Trains employees to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframes. Interacts with departments within Global to keep business moving efficiently: Safety, Project Managers, Accounting, Human Resources, Shop, and others. The Senior Superintendent is responsible for the overall leadership, planning, and coordination of the construction project. Working closely with Project Managers and with safety and quality always at the forefront, this position will oversee all site staff and sub-contractors to effectively manage the daily on-site activities to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the contract, schedule, and budget. The Commercial Construction Project Superintendent is an onsite team leader working with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, Director of Field Operations, and General Superintendent to ensure effective management and coordination of assigned jobsite resources toward the common goal of quality and timely delivery of services which exceed customer s expectations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Planning for, scheduling, tracking, maintaining adequate supervision of, and motivating multiple subcontractors and suppliers for the project assigned. Responsible for scheduling, interfacing, and promoting good relationships with project owners, building officials, architects, engineers, and project service providers. Responsible for ensuring that all construction activities meet master project schedule milestones by developing, preparing, and maintaining a two-week, short-interval construction activity schedule ensuring relevant parties are kept apprised of all schedule changes on a regular basis. Responsible for enforcing Hubbell s work rules and safety policies as they apply to Hubbell Construction Services and its employees in addition to ensuring that subcontractors are held responsible for enforcing these same work rules and safety policies as they relate to their employees, subcontractors, hired labor piece workers, hourly workers, workers by the foot, etc. Responsible for project quality control and testing agencies. Layout and verification of layout elevations and material utilization for all subcontractors. Timely and profitable completion of assigned projects. Timely review and approval of subcontractor requisitions and invoices. Direct supervision and timely evaluation of assistant site managers and trainees. Ensures familiarity with contract documents with assigned site personnel. Maintains positive working environment for entire site team. Responsible for the entire drawing/submittal process, including: reviews, mark up, and approval within project management software. Oversees process for creating meeting agenda/minutes for foreman meetings within project management software. Leads punch list efforts with documentation housed within project management software. Maintains accurate and up to date as-builts in paper format. Performs preconstruction plan reviews and creates project constructability logs. Attends all superintendent meetings, required corporate meetings, training programs, and seminars. Requirements Minimum five years of project superintendent experience on projects ranging from $500,000 to $15 million, including restaurant, retail, bank, health care, multifamily, and remodel projects. Bachelor s degree in construction management, construction engineering or equivalent experience required. Proficient in Microsoft Project scheduling software. Comprehensive knowledge of commercial building construction activities. Strong knowledge of OSHA, federal, state, municipal and project-specific safety regulations; OSHA 10 hour certified preferred. Must possess a valid driver s license and must be bondable. Must have proof of liability insurance for same. Must remain alert at all times to perform essential functions of the position.
