RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Superintendent, you will:
Plan and supervise craft activities - includes determining method of construction, manpower levels, material, tools & equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked
Coordinate assigned project scopes utilizing various crafts, company departments, or other contractors
Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and administrative policies and procedures within BMWC's policies
Responsible for coaching field supervision on planning and scheduling methods; project reporting methods to include time and payroll information, identification of material requirements, control monitoring and reporting of labor performance
Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule
Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.)
Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented
Maintain relationships and align project needs with other support departments (i.e., purchasing, safety, virtual design, quality control)
Delegate responsibility and assure its proper completing of assigned tasks
Lead daily and weekly pre-planning efforts including IWPs, daily huddles, constraint checks, and safety planning
Collaborate with project controls to ensure work packages, spool releases, and filed installation plans align with schedule
Coordinate with BMWC fabrication facilities to ensure spool deliveries, fit-up sequences, weld mapping, and material traceability to meet project requirements
Validate spool priority lists, shop schedules, and ensure field conditions match fabrication drawings
Track labor productivity daily using BMWC's earned value methods
Provide accurate percent complete, quantity tracking, and look-ahead updates to the project team
Participate in weekly production reviews and forecasting discussions
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience leading large capital projects, $10 million + required
Prior experience in a Union environment preferred
Experience with high purity piping preferred
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry a plus
Minimum 8 years supervisory experience along with demonstrated ability to supervise 50 or more craft employees
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control
Construction means and methods for assigned scopes of work
Demonstrated knowledge and experience reading & interpreting construction documents and specifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, lift, carry, pull, grasp, climb, crouch, sit or bend over or periods without relief
Must be able to lift, carry and move up to 50 pounds as needed
Climb ladders and stairs to access platforms and scaffolds, as well as walk around indoor and outdoor job sites with distances up to one mile, on uneven, paved, gravel, dirt or sandy surfaces
Must be able to work on elevated platforms, scaffolds, and landings. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus

The Role We Want You For
Clayco is seeking our next great Superintendent for our national Mission Critical Business Unit. In this role you will provide on-site supervision and quality control for field operations and onsite management of design/build construction projects. The person in this role also reviews documents, responds to scope modification evaluations during construction, and works to complete Clayco projects with respect to Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost objectives. Requirements
B.S. in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent trade experience with progression to management levels.
5-10 years of experience in highly technical commercial/industrial construction management, on projects of 50+ million, ideally with design-build experience.
Ability to supervise construction employees and subcontractors to accomplish work within budget and schedule constraints.
Strong project safety record and commitment to safety and quality.
Strong work ethic and willingness to travel or relocate to jobsite.
Creative and results-oriented with a sense of urgency.
Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding.
Ability to lift objects at least 50lbs.

The Role We Want You For
As a Superintendent specializing in Life Sciences construction, you will play a crucial role in meticulously planning and orchestrating construction projects. Your adept conflict resolution skills will be called upon to address disputes in the field. Approaching challenges courteously and professionally, you will utilize specifications, drawings, and schedules to fairly resolve issues in the best interest of the project.
Specific Responsibilities:
Implement health and safety project plans on-site.
Oversee the entire construction process and ensure budget compliance.
Organize and supervise construction teams, ensuring performance meets requirements.
Record costs for materials and payments for work done.
Conduct general inspections of worker performance and safety.
Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.
Liaise with government inspectors and develop on-site requirements.
Supervise subcontractors, ensuring punctuality and quality delivery.
Maintain construction quality and budget adherence.
Write project progress records in collaboration with the foreman.
Encourage contractors to educate themselves on safety policies and enforce them consistently.
Monitor productivity, identify and address problems, and provide solutions to maintain work schedules.
Inspect work for compliance with company standards and address poor work immediately.
Communicate safety expectations, follow up on safety audits, and identify critical issues for improvement.
Build strong relationships, negotiate effectively, and handle constructive criticism.
REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of experience in life sciences construction management, with projects of $30M+, preferably with design/build experience.
3-15 years of experience in highly technical commercial/industrial construction management, on projects of 50+ million, ideally with design-build experience.
Ability to effectively supervise construction employees and achieve work within budget and schedule.
Strong project safety record and commitment to safety and quality.
Strong work ethic and willingness to travel or relocate to jobsite.
Creative and results-oriented with a sense of urgency.
Positive working relationships with all construction groups.
Strong analytical ability and capacity to interpret data.
Comfortable with change and ambiguity, adaptable, collaborative, and a systems hinker.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and focused on developing future leaders.
Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding.

Job Summary:
The Superintendent will be responsible for managing field operations on assigned projects to ensure completion within budget, schedule, safety, and quality standards. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.
Superintendent Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day on-site operations of commercial construction projects, including scheduling, quality control, and safety compliance.
Supervise construction staff and subcontractors, ensuring that all work is performed according to design specifications and industry standards.
Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to establish project timelines and communicate progress updates.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the construction process, identifying and addressing any issues that may arise.
Ensure all safety protocols are followed and promote a culture of safety on the job site.
Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure materials and labor are utilized efficiently.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and change orders.
Collaborate with local agencies and utility companies as needed to ensure all permits and approvals are obtained.

Qualifications:
Minimum 9 years of progressive field construction experience, typically as a Trades Worker, Foreman, Assistant Project Superintendent, or other related role, including at least 4 years of experience in a field supervisory role.
High level of technical knowledge and problem-solving capabilities equivalent to that derived from construction or engineering-related training.
Proficiency in reading plans and specifications and must have overall knowledge of construction industry, i.e., mechanical, electrical, etc.
Demonstrated ability to thoroughly understand project finances.
Demonstrated effective verbal, written, skills.
Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Must hold a valid drivers license and motor vehicle record must meet standards of insurability.
Demonstrated ability to use various software applications including PM software (Procore preferred), Microsoft Suite, including ability to understand cost spreadsheets, aging report, labor productivity report.
Must be familiar with contract administration, Requests for Information, Schedule of Values, preparation and adjustment to monthly billings, preparation of construction schedules including predecessors, successors, constraints, float and lags.
Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) or comparable certification is preferred.
Candidates who are not certified must be willing to obtain certification within the first six months of employment.
Ideal candidates will have significant experience in scheduling, quality control, and safety compliance on complex projects in all phases.
