Responsibilities:
Works with computer numeric controlled (CNC) heavy machinery from setup to operation to produce parts and tools from metal. May operate other machinery to include horizontal boringmill and CNC vertical and horizontal lathes.
Performs layouts, sets up, machine tools as required.
Review blueprints, drawings, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of part/product, sequence of operations and/or set up requirements.
Reads and interprets all drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
Measure, mark and otherwise indicate the dimensions and reference points on the part or material to be used as guides for subsequent machining.
Select, align and secure the holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines to include mills, lathes and grinders.
Calculate and set controls to regulate various machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut.
Start and observe machine operation to detect any malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust the machine controls as necessary.
Verify conformance of finished part to ensure that it meets specifications.
Improves methods for higher quality and improved costs.
Assist maintenance in diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance.
Adheres to company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
Performs other duties within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Schedule/Shift Details: 2nd shift (4:30PM-3AM) Monday-Thursday with some Saturdays, as needed! TRAIN ON FIRST SHIFT 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalent
2+ years experience
Must be able to speak and understand English.
Completion of a machinist apprentice program or equivalent training
Programing is a plus
Familiarity with Mori Seki, Okuma and Haas machines a plus.
Ability to hold close tolerances and conduct component inspections.
Demonstrated ability to effectively set up and operate all or at least most, of the machines.
Ability to perform with a minimum of direct supervision.
Working knowledge of tool geometry and application.
Working knowledge of effects of feeds and speeds.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Input, edit, and optimize G-code/M-code directly at the terminal or machine as needed.
Select and install tooling, fixtures, and work holding devices.

Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues related to tooling, speeds/feeds, and part quality.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Job Summary:
The CNC Lathe/Mills Setup/Operator will work with our team of engineers and machinist to help produce a variety of products for industries including Aerospace, Defense, process control and other applications. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the organization assisting with manufacturing of products in an environment that is fast paced and dynamic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sets up and operates numerical control machine to cut, shape or form metal work pieces to specifications
Review setup sheet and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished work piece.
Attaches fixture to machine bed and positions and secures work piece in fixture according to set up instructions using clamps, bolts, hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments such a rule and calipers.
Assembles cutting tools n tool holders and positions tool holders in machine spindles as specified, using hand tools, or inserts cutting tools in specified machine magazines.
Loads control media, such as disk, tape, or punch card, in machine control console or enter commands to retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions from data base.
Manipulates controls and enters commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and to start machine.
Observes and listens to machine operations to detect malfunctions, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
Changes cutting tools and location of work piece during machining process as specified in set p instructions. Measures work piece for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators and gauges
Notifies supervisor of discrepancies.
May adjust machine feed and speed and change cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions
May machine materials other than metal such as composites, plastic and rubber.
May instruct other workers
May use statistical process control techniques

Make good parts while running more than one machine
Setup machines by following written instructions "First Article" setups
Running new programs and making fixture

Keep parts in tolerance by changing offsets
Setup vertical or horizontal CNC mills

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up and/or operating CNC Mills or Lathes to produce high-quality precision components. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, quality-focused, and experienced machining environment that is focused on tight tolerances.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Set up and operate CNC Mills or Lathes to machine parts to specification.
* Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
* Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments to maintain part accuracy.
* Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.).
* Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor issues.
* Perform basic program edits on CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, or similar).
* Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S principles.
* Work collaboratively with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
* Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
* Strong understanding of machining practices, cutting tools, and feeds/speeds.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience:
* 2+ years of experience operating CNC Mills, Lathes, or both (willing to train the right candidate with strong mechanical aptitude).
* Experience with precision measurement instruments.
* Basic understanding of G/M codes preferred.
