You are someone with previous driving experience and is familiar with pre and post trip inspections and using online log systems. What You Will Be Doing: Current and active Class A or B Driver's license with good driving record Drives truck to destination. Distributes receipts for load picked up. Occasionally collects payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges. Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations. Contacts customers to advise delivery times. Unload truck. Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Skills You Bring: Must be CDL Licensed, must pass Driver's Testing, and must pass DOT Physical / Drug Testing. Position Summary: The purpose of the CDL Driver is to operate large company vehicles, which include dump trucks, flatbeds, tri-axels, tankers, and other company CDL vehicles to and on various company construction sites, while doing so in a safe and efficient manner. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Successful candidates will be able to perform the following essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation. Operate various commercial vehicles, such as dump trucks, flatbeds, triaxles, or tankers, in strict compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety protocols. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle, identifying and reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly. May assist with loading and unloading materials on construction sites, following safe practices and using appropriate equipment when necessary. Caring for company machines/vehicles/equipment/tools. Keep working sites clean of all unused/waste materials and ensure all equipment is stored in a safe and secure manner. Ensure the practice of safety standards in accordance with company policies and OSHA. Willingness to perform and learn different aspects of the Construction Laborer position. Education/Certification(s)/License(s): High school diploma or equivalent- Preferred. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A or B) with a clean driving record (endorsements may vary depending on the specific vehicles driven). Knowledge & Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating commercial vehicles in a construction environment. Mechanical aptitude - Preferred. Other Requirements: Be a minimum of 18 years of age. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screens & background check, including MVR. Must be in a union or be willing to join a union.
