We are seeking a Linux System Administrator to join our team in Herndon, VA. In this role, you'll support mission partners directly, making a tangible impact on critical objectives. You'll collaborate with AI/ML researchers, software engineers, and cybersecurity teams to leverage open-source tools in building and maintaining a private cloud and AI/ML infrastructure. Our customers bring no shortage of unique and challenging problems, and we are expanding our system footprint to meet their evolving needs.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and respond to hardware and software outages across the platform.
Maintain infrastructure supporting Data Science and Analysis R&D activities.
Assist platform tenants and users with troubleshooting and requests.
Implement cybersecurity remediations in collaboration with security teams.
Upgrade, deploy, and integrate applications on the platform.
Add and configure new hardware within multiple compute clusters.
Review, update, and improve existing procedures and documentation.
Ensure platform compliance with customer policies and organizational standards, while advocating for Data Science and Analysis needs in the face of cybersecurity requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI and ability to obtain a CI polygraph.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field (or 4 additional years of experience); requires at least 2 years of Linux system administration experience.
Hands-on experience with tools such as Docker/Podman, Packer, GitLab, and GitLab Runners.
Skilled in Tier 1 and Tier 2 support with proven ability to troubleshoot complex environments.
Capable of supporting a broad range of tasks, including software upgrades, patching, system monitoring, and R&D.
Willing to work full-time on-site in Herndon, VA, with a demonstrated ability to operate as a self-starter.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of Linux system administration with hands-on experience in automation (Ansible, Bash, Terraform) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Proficiency in Python full-stack development and familiarity with data-driven tools such as Hadoop, HDFS, ElasticSearch, and YARN.
Working knowledge of cybersecurity tools (Security Center, Carbon Black, McAfee, SecurityOnion, Snort, Bro, etc.) and experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Sonarqube, Fortify).
Strong understanding of DISA STIG application to Linux systems and experience with the cybersecurity accreditation process (RMF, ATO, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171).
Effective communicator with strong verbal, written, and organizational skills; able to collaborate in team settings and work independently.
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond quickly to ad-hoc requests and shifting priorities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Assumes clinical and administrative supervision of nursing and patient care services for multiple units/departments or hospital/entity. Consults, advises or informs nursing providers and other leaders concerning issues that arise and their resolution as appropriate unit needs and/or problems during the shift worked. Escalates concerns applying the chain of command.
Consults and communicates with nursing and hospital administration as well as senior medical staff and other Nurse Leaders concerning any operational issues or matters pertaining to staffing and the management of assigned areas. Creates a professional atmosphere and an environment of coaching and development that supports shared/collaborative governance. A day in the life
This role acts as Amazon's front line when it comes to hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting.
