The staff chaplain will provide pastoral ministry in a manner which exemplifies the philosophy, mission and values of the pastoral care department at Baptist Health South Florida, acting as worship and sacramental leader, counselor, advocate-mediator, educator, and spiritual guide. The chaplain provides emotional support, spiritual counsel and comfort in addressing the spiritual needs of patients as assigned. This individual provides a spiritual perspective when consulting with Mayo Clinic staff, patients and families regarding ethical, moral or personal issues. The chaplain is skilled in crisis and bereavement counseling and is an active participant in the interdisciplinary patient care team. This individual promotes a healing environment enhancing spiritual and emotional health for both patients and staff. Participates in teamwork with other members of the department, including providing unit and on-call coverage.
