Supervisor- Surgical Sterile Processing - (250004O1) Description Job SumamryUnder supervision of the Sterile Processing Manager and following established policies, procedures, and guidelines assumes the responsibility for leadership of the decontamination, instrument assembly and wrapping, processing, and case cart area. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital. Responsible for monitoring staff performance and productivity requirements. Monitor the daily flow and needs from the Surgical Service department, hospital floor units, and TMG clinics. Interacts directly with the operating room staff, floor staff, medical staff, and vendors. Responsible for collecting and analyzing departmental data. Makes suggestions and implements process improvement strategies. Incorporates the use of Culture Care at all times and leads staff in the use of Culture Care behavioral expectations. Qualifications
High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
Four (4) years sterile processing and/or operating room experience required.
CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification required.
CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist) certification required.
Two (2) years of sterile processing supervisory experience or equivalent experience preferred.
Ability to directs, lead & discipline staff.
Proficient with MS Office products & MMIS to run reports, analyze data, & present information in clear format.
Demonstrates higher level of knowledge of inventory, stocking, dispensing, & processing of medical supplies

* Performs basic life support, advanced life support and critical care nursing.
* Functions under standing orders of the physician or Medical Director and is expected to perform assessments, provide treatment and monitor patients during inter-facility transports.
* Has strong communication skills and interpersonal skills as they work in confined spaces(Ambulance/Helo/Fixed Wing, must relay information to MD and other medical professionals.
* Remains calm and focused and possess strong problem solving and critical thinking skills to effectively assess patients and provide appropriate treatment.
* Responsible for the care of the patient including any emergency procedures the patient may require while under their care.
* These procedures may include but are not limited to CPR and endotracheal intubation, needle aspiration of the chest and umbilical assess during emergency medication delivery.
Two options for this position: (1) Pediatric ground ambulance requiring PICU and or Peds ED experience. This position is mid shift 1300hrs - 0100hrs @ 36hrs / week. The Pediatric ground position has the opportunity to complete fixed wing transports. (2) Neonatal / Pediatric ground ambulance requiring 2,000 hours of NICU III or IV experience and PICU and / or Peds ED experience. This is a PM shift 1900hrs - 0700hrs @ 36hrs / week.
