Respiratory Therapist performs designated Respiratory Care and Pulmonary diagnostic procedures, under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Coordinator or designee, in accordance with protocols and procedures established by the department and hospital, in the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the cardiopulmonary system. The Respiratory Care services include, but are not limited to, the following activities performed upon physician order\: Therapeutic and diagnostic procedures performed with the use of medical gases and administration apparatus, environmental control systems, humidification, and aerosols; Administration of drugs and medications to the cardiopulmonary system; Ventilatory support, including maintenance and management of life support systems; Bronchopulmonary drainage and breathing exercises; Pulmonary rehabilitation; Cardiopulmonary resuscitation; Maintenance of natural and artificial airways. These procedures are performed in critical care and non-critical care areas, on patients of all ages, in accordance with mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Completion of 2 Year Respiratory Care Program and has achieved CRT-RE, CRT-MRE or RRT status and completion of NBRC requirements for RRT.
Licensed as RRT in the State of Florida and active credential for RRT. Initial Orientation and completion of progressive orientation period or 1-year progressive hospital experience. CRT must have 3-year progressive hospital experience.

The ability to assess and initiate emergency procedures. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery to achieve desired patient outcomes. Performs all other duties required.

As a CT Technologist at Baptist, you will work closely with radiologists to ensure accurate imaging and patient safety as this aligns with our mission to make hope, healing, and well-being accessible to every person as an expression of God's love. Our CT Technologists are dedicated to delivering high quality imaging services, ensure both the comfort and safety of patients, and will thrive in a collaborative environment. Additional responsbilities of our CT technologists include operating and calibrating of GE equipment, preparing patients for their procedures which include administering IV contrast & patient positioning, providing clear explanations & education about the process, and ensuring the compliance with all regulatory standards.
As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for:
* Performing high quality (CT) procedures in accordance to established protocols and guidelines.
* Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures.
* Monitor patient vital signs and comfort during exams.
* Operate CT equipment and ensure proper maintenance.
* Collaborate with radiologists to provide optimal imaging results.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation of procedures.
* Adhere to safety protocols and radiation safety standards.
* Educate patients on the CT process and answer any patient questions.

To provide a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care services inclusive of oxygen therapy, therapeutic gas administration, chest physiotherapy, aerosol therapy, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway management, ventilator management and acute (Respiratory) care services to both inpatients and outpatients of the institution, to include all age ranges from neonatal through geriatrics
Education: Minimum Education: Graduation from a Respiratory Therapy Program.
Required Licensure/Certification: Current Florida Registered or Certified license; BLS certification.
Required Licensure/Certification: ACLS, PALS, and NRP prior to hire
Preferred Licensure/Certification: Registered
