Education:
Nurse Practitioner Education:
BSN required, MSN preferred; successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner (general or specialized) from an approved nurse practitioner program.
Minimum three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting, plus two years of nurse practitioner experience.
PhysicianAssistant Education:
Bachelor's degree and successful completion of accredited physicianassistant program.
Four years of health care experience prior to applying to PA program, plus one year of experience as PA, preferably in clinic setting.
Experience:

Knowledge:
Knowledge of medical model and roles of physicians and physicianassistants. Familiar with anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, clinical medicine, and physical diagnosis.
Knowledge of patient assessment techniques including taking medical histories, performing physicals, evaluating health status including state of wellness, and compliance with care recommendations.
Knowledge of diagnosing and treating medical problems and developing care plans.
Knowledge of documentation in medical records in confidential manner.
Skills:
Skill in gathering and analyzing physiological, socioeconomic, and emotional patient data.
Skill in accurately evaluating patient problems in person or via phone and providing appropriate advice, intervention, or referral.
Skill in developing/revising patient care plan based on patient status.
Abilities:
Ability to make responsible decisions within scope of PA practice.
Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians on complicated cases.
Ability to educate patients, families, and staff in user-friendly manner.
Ability to demonstrate eye-hand coordination, full range of motion, and manual dexterity.
Equipment Operated: Medical instruments required for physical exams and minor surgery and computer hardware/software.
Work Environment: Medical office and exam room settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, and other conditions common to clinic. Frequent contact with variety of people.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, and twisting. May be required to help to transfer patient. High level of responsibility and heavy workload can generate stress.

As an Urgent Care APP for Intermountain Health you will provide equal coverage at Roy InstaCare Clinic, Layton Clinic and North Ogden Clinic. You will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience.
You will work 6 x 12-hour shifts per month, including rotating weekends and holidays.
Clinic Hours are 8am ? 8pm or 9am ? 9pm depending on location.

When you join us, you'll become a part of a nationally recognized health system dedicated to our mission of "helping people live the healthiest lives possible." **About this role:** As an Epilepsy Advanced Practice Provider (APP; nurse practitioner or physicianassistant) at Intermountain Health, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role you will be one of two dedicated epilepsy APPs, working alongside 4 epileptologists, and part of the larger Neuroscience Institute group, including in-person and tele-neurohospitalists, neuro critical care physicians, outpatient neurologists, neuro and spine PM&R physicians, neuro-psychologists and psychiatrists.
Our growing and specialized epilepsy program provides those with epilepsy in the Intermountain West access to the latest research and treatment options. The program has been named a Level 4 Epilepsy Center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers - which is the highest level of certification possible for an epilepsy program. The designation recognizes the program's professional expertise and its ability to provide the highest level of medical and surgical evaluations and treatment for patients with epilepsy and other seizure disorders.
In this role you can anticipate:
+ Practicing at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah
+ With physician support, maintain an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU); the APP will admit, round, and maintain care for patients in EMU
+ Assist in epilepsy outpatient clinic; seeing patients for return visits, follow-up visits, chronic care, etc.
+ 4x10's (M,T,TH,F); days split between the outpatient clinic and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
+ 1:6 rotating weekend EMU coverage, with compensatory day off
+ Relocation assistance as needed
