Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned
Electrical Construction Superintendent
to lead field execution of electrical work on complex
data center construction projects
. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day activities of electrical subcontractors, ensure adherence to plans and specifications, enforce safety standards, and coordinate with other trades to deliver high-performance, schedule-driven mission-critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Leadership & Execution
Direct the daily activities of electrical subcontractor, and vendors to ensure quality, productivity, and schedule adherence.
Manage and enforce installation plans for MV/LV distribution systems, switchgear, UPS, generators, grounding, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
Ensure that installations meet project specifications, local codes (NEC, NFPA 70E), and owner design criteria.
Schedule & Coordination
Lead weekly and daily planning sessions, including 3-week lookahead schedules specific to electrical scope.
Coordinate closely with mechanical, civil, and architectural trades to avoid conflicts and optimize workflow.
Track and report field progress; identify schedule impacts and propose recovery strategies.
Quality Assurance & Commissioning Readiness
Inspect electrical work in progress and completed installations for conformance to specifications and standards.
Support the commissioning process by ensuring system readiness, managing punch lists, and supporting integrated system testing (IST).
Assist in turnover package development and documentation for closeout.
Safety & Compliance
Serve as the electrical safety leader on site enforcing LOTO procedures, arc flash mitigation, and energized work protocols.
Conduct safety audits and toolbox talks; promote a proactive safety culture.
Ensure all subcontractors comply with project-specific EHS standards and site protocols.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate field records, including daily logs, work permits, and inspection reports.
Provide input to RFIs and field change documentation, ensuring timely issue resolution.
Communicate regularly with project management on field conditions, issues, and risks.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
7-10+ years of experience in
electrical construction
, with
3+ years in a superintendent or supervisory role
.
Proven track record on
data centers, industrial facilities, or
with intensive electrical infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, sequencing, and commissioning processes.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, installation details, and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Journeyman or Master Electrician license (preferred but not required).
OSHA 30, NFPA 70E certification, or equivalent safety training.
Familiarity with tools such as Bluebeam, Procore, and construction scheduling software.
Experience with Uptime Institute Tier standards and redundancy requirements (N, N+1, 2N).
