We are seeking an experienced Bridge Carpenter I to work on our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and repairing wooden and concrete formwork for bridges and other heavy civil structures. As a key member of our team, the Carpenter I will work closely with other crew members and subcontractors to ensure that projects are completed to the highest level of quality. Responsibilities Build, install, and repair structures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the scope of work Measure, mark, and cut materials to the required size and shape Construct, install, and align formwork systems for concrete structures, ensuring proper grade and dimensions Assist with reinforcing steel placement and concrete pours as needed Ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of quality Communicate regularly with other crew members and subcontractors to ensure that work is completed on schedule and within budget Develop and maintain relationships with crew members and subcontractors to ensure that they are aware of project schedules and deadlines Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects Some light travel Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in carpentry preferred 3+ years of experience in carpentry, with experience in a construction setting preferred Experience with heavy civil or bridge projects strongly preferred. Inventories material upon delivery to ensure components comply with the contract drawings prior to signature. Involved in daily closeout meetings with the Superintendent providing an update on the day's activities and needs for the following day. Follows quality control (QC) program, understands construction tolerances, and reports any quality defects immediately. Checks and confirms elevation grades and plumbness on critical tank components. Follows and upholds safety procedures and understands DN Tanks safety policies. Identifies hazards, takes action to correct them, and is responsible for recognizing those who do the same in accordance with the Award of Excellence (AOE) Program. Promotes clean, safe work practices by watching over other employees while performing work. Provide coaching and training while motivating the team to produce quality work and ensure all safety standards are met with all individuals on the project. Maintain all certifications in compliance with DN Tanks Safety & Equipment Programs. Performs all jobsite layout utilizing survey equipment under direction of the Superintendent. Supports the training program by working closely with other traveling tank builders and utilizing all resources available in DN University. Qualifications Operate and maintain DN Tanks tools and equipment. Ability to travel to project sites throughout the United States at the direction of the Field Operations Manager. Ability to climb and perform tasks at heights on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, shoring, and scaffolds. Ability to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc. Ability to complete DN Tanks crane certification.
