Position Summary: The teacher instructs students in one or more subjects at the elementary level designated according to state licensure, certification, and subject matter specifically as assigned by the building Principal. The elementary teacher is responsible for assisting with the implementation and managing the policies, regulations, and procedures of the District to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe student-centered learning environment that meets and exceeds the ADE State Standards, following the approved curricula and directives of the District and the ADE. Achieving academic excellence requires that the teacher works collaboratively to lead and nurture all students and to communicate effectively with parents, members of the community, and colleagues in other districts and schools. Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for student supervision, planning, curriculum development, and emergency procedures.
The E4 District Transformation Model ensures all students will be provided with guaranteed learning opportunities to expose, explore, expand, and excel through various themed models, an avenue for students to be future-ready upon graduation. Seventh Street Elementary School will be the first innovative school developed through the E4 initiative. In accordance with the new vision of preparing our students to be future-ready, additional professional development will be required as well as a commitment to providing the highest quality of rigorous, relevant, and innovative education through project-based learning. All students that attend the newly reconfigured school will have access to high-quality staff that are committed to working in partnership with families, community members, businesses, and industry partners to provide guaranteed learning experiences.
This position also includes an additional stipend that will be based on the following criteria:
(a) signed school reconfiguration non-negotiable form, (b) 95% attendance at professional development sessions offered prior, during, and after the regular school year, (c) 95% attendance to Professional Learning Community Meetings, (d) successful implementation of daily standards-based instruction and monitoring to include rigorous, relevant, and innovative learning practices with fidelity, (e) successful implementation of PBL signature projects with fidelity, (f) satisfactory teacher/administrator evaluation performance rating, and (g) meet or exceed school performance learning targets outlined in the school improvement plan and aligned with the individual teacher/administrator professional growth plan.

The teacher's duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom responsible
Follow district policy and building procedures associated with student management; consistently demonstrate proficient classroom management skills.

Enforce all NLRSD Board policies, administrative procedures, and rules governing students; implement the plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction using researched-based best practices.
Guide and counsel all students based on their academic interests and needs.
Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injuries and damage.
Prepare for assigned classes, and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisors.
Use technology to support instruction.
Meet with parents and/or guardians to discuss their children's progress.
Confer with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems. Assist in the development and implementation of IEP's and 504 plans.
Prepare objectives and comprehensive lesson plans following curriculum maps and the Arkansas State Frameworks.
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of secondary school programs.
Prepare reports on students and activities as required by the administration.
Select, store, order, issue, and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies.
Administer standardized ability and achievement tests according to state requirements and interpret results to determine students' strengths and areas of need. Develop, implement, and update Academic Improvement Plans.
Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
Perform supervisory duties as assigned in accordance with state statutes.
Adhere to North Little Rock School District Policies, and the state-mandated "Educators' Code of Ethics."
Follow all state and federal guidelines in association with IDEA and ADA to ensure that all students have access to a comprehensive education.
Maintain a valid ArkansasTeacher's License with appropriate certification and Highly Qualified Teacher status (if applicable).
Adhere to the Policies of the North Little Rock School District.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position is responsible for providing instruction and support designed to prepare students for current and future success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
