AWS is looking for a dynamic Commissioning Engineer. It is the responsibility of all Amazonians to have alignment with our leadership principles and demonstrate these at the highest level.
The responsibilities of the ACx Commissioning Engineer (CxE) include, but are not limited to, oversight and coordination of multi-discipline division of work related to design review and commissioning of Amazon critical infrastructure for new construction and special projects. The CxE is responsible for supporting vendors, contractors, and other teams involved in the construction and commissioning of various systems including medium and low voltage power systems, Generators, UPS, HVAC, Chilled Water, BMS, and EPMS systems. They shall provide multi-discipline input into the scheduling, test script development, designing, and planning of projects. In addition, the CxE will be required to develop and review electrical and mechanical component and integrated systems testing along with other commissioning documents to ensure they are compliant with the basis of design, specification, industry standards and sequence of operations. It is the CxE responsibility to ensure that all commissioning procedures follow the appropriate safety practices and policies. CxE is responsible for auditing commissioning activities continuously to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements. The CxE proactively communicates with the ACx Regional Manager and the ACx team to ensure that the applicable test documents are created and executed in accordance with all commissioning requirements. This individual will be responsible for comprehensive weekly reporting of status of all ongoing projects, lessons learned, and program improvements to continually improve the quality of our program. This position will include coverage of multiple inflight projects and tight schedules.

Following the AWS project reporting format, you will be responsible for regular reporting of commissioning progress and metrics of assigned project to your Regional Commissioning Manager. If project turnover is at risk, the CxE escalates to the appropriate stakeholders. Amazon is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This committed group works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports Amazon Web Services. Specifically, this team works to ensure that the data center's MEP operates at 100% availability while maintaining first-class customer service to the teams and groups within the data centers.
The Data Center Chief Engineer (CE) is responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. The CE serves as an expert technical resource reporting to a site's Data Center Facility Manager and interacting with onsite Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT) and any third party vendors. They are expected to be a singular focal point for all facility operations within a given data center and to support Amazon within its owned and operated data centers. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.
Also expected from the CE is the ability to management small-to-medium impacting projects from conception to completion. These projects involve large amounts of independent work as well as collaboration with external support groups including engineering, automation, processing, and finance in both local and global settings. The CE will be tasked with creating and delivering on key milestones, obtaining and tracking quotes for all necessary costs, and documenting project results for future implementation at other facilities. The goals of such projects are for the CE to drive innovation and resiliency while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
The CE directs, trains and supports EOT's in their role of providing hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operations. Implementation and execution of site/equipment-specific training exercises is also expected. A day in the life
Typical day, review and prioritize preventative maintenance schedules for electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems. Meet with vendor representatives to oversee ongoing maintenance work and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Monitor system performance metrics to maintain 99.999% uptime standards. * Develop all-source assessments, RFIs, briefings, and data in compliance established IC tradecraft requirements, specifically ICD 203 and ICD 206.
Requirements:
* This position requires a minimum of a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. • Significant software skills, comfortable with technology, programming, and analysis (AFSIM, ITASE, etc. / C++, Matlab/Simulink, etc.).
* Experience in Verification and Validation of models.
* Understanding of fluid-dynamic, thermodynamics or shock physics.
* 5+ years of relevant experience.
