Position Summary
The retail Sales and Service Technician (SST) is a unique hybrid role for stores and is intended as a key pipeline for future career-growth within Firestone Complete Auto Care. This role is primarily responsible for serving the customer through assessing needs, recommending appropriate products and/or services, performing entry-level vehicle services, and ensuring customer satisfaction through thorough and timely completion of services.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Starters, alternators, fan clutches, and engine electronics
Air conditioning systems
Diesel and gas engines, transmissions (manual/automatic), clutches, differentials
Hydraulic and steering systems, air brake systems
Collect and document repair information; communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.

Maintain and operate a company-issued service truck, including safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
Work independently, managing your own schedule and productivity while meeting Standard Repair Times.
Use logic and reasoning to troubleshoot, evaluate alternatives, and recommend effective solutions.
Qualifications:
Mechanical repair experience 2 years minimum (diesel, automotive, or related field).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building infrastructure.
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with equipment and facilities to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues to identify root causes and effective solutions.
Install, maintain, and repair facility fixtures, including lighting, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
Collaborate with outside contractors and vendors when necessary to complete repairs and maintenance projects.
Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
Document and report all maintenance activities, including completed repairs and needed improvements.
Assist with seasonal and special projects, such as preparing the facility for inclement weather or special events.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of maintenance or mechanical experience in a similar setting (hospitality, club, or facility maintenance preferred).
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Experience with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and wet weather.
Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked, canceled, or disqualified from driving).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physically able to work on HVAC units including rooftop units
Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or heat
Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders

Requirements:

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Facilities Director, the Part Time (20 hours per week) Facilities Technician is responsible for the daily maintenance and operation of the facility & grounds.
