The Registered Behavior Technician is responsible for providing applied behavior analysis-based services. Services include providing behavior support and intervention to reduce challenging behaviors in a social recreation (Out of Home Respite Program) The RBT would be supporting Individual's at the program site/and or community settings as assigned using crisis intervention as needed to protect clients and/client safety. Your Role & Responsibilities - Documentation of behavior observation and incident reports Assisting Direct Support Professionals in methods for delivery and documentation of individual Behavior Support Plan and instructional plans. Crisis intervention as needed to protect client and/or student safety. Delivering client behavior and learning programs with fidelity and as designed. Attendance in staff meetings is required and other assigned meetings assigned Maintaining current RBT status. Protects client confidentiality, including written records or reports, per requirements. Protects client welfare and best interests at all times, to include assistance with advocacy, medical, personal, social needs and other individual client needs. ***Please note that in this position, you will not be obtaining RBT Supervisor hours; however, an RBT Certificate is required. *** Qualifications - Valid RBT Credential. One-year-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination in in with special needs and experience working with individuals. High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), preferred Associate of Arts. The ADP Instructor shall be the primary person responsible for conducting classes and demonstrations to teach principles and techniques, or methods in a variety of subjects including, but not limited to activities of daily living, visual and performing arts, home economics, communication and social skills, physical exercise, vocational training, etc. The ADP Instructor will utilize approved curriculums, make modifications to curriculums to meet individual needs, provide ADP Instructional Assistants with feedback on the implementation of curriculums, and ensure a structured learning environment for the individuals served. Responsibilities and Duties * Develop lesson plans that include meaningful training activities and ensure that activities comply with ISPs, the ADP program design, CMS requirements, and client choice. Activities must be meaningful to the individuals served. * Ensure all changes in daily activities are noted on the appropriate documents and comply with ISPs. * Communicate change of activity requests to the ADP Supervisor and only act upon changes once approval is received from the ADP Supervisor. * Model appropriate classroom behavior and ensure that all individuals are encouraged to participate in daily activities. * Provide structured classroom environment to ensure instructional assistants can assist individuals with activities of daily living as specified in Individual Program Plan (IPP) and Individual Service Plan (ISP). * Provide training to individuals in the least-restrictive, most appropriate setting including simulated training on campus and practical training in community locations. * Provide support to individuals in an assigned group with personal needs as specified in each individual's IPP and ISP. This may include, but is not limited to, changing adult diapers, feeding the individual according to the support plans, and any other need that arises through the course of the program day. Instructors are expected to provide this support during lunch and before the first and last scheduled activity of each day. * Follow all program procedures when handling client and company funds. * Provide appropriate supervision to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of individuals served by the agency. * While providing direct supervision, the ADP Instructor may not leave clients unattended and must remain with assigned clients until relieved by another staff member. * Inform a day program supervisor about concerns related to client health, welfare, and safety in a timely manner. * Identify needs, including specific training needs, and convey this information effectively to the ADP supervisor. * Attend regular supervisory meetings to review client issues and convey concerns to the ADP Supervisor as necessary. * Conduct initial and ongoing assessments and provide assessment results to the ADP Supervisor. * Support clients with community integration on trips by utilizing public transportation (BART/bus) or Las Trampas vans. * Gather data on individual progress (including daily notes, ISP data, behavioral data, skin checks, seizure logs, etc.) and ensure data is accurate and complete. * Implement behavior reinforcement plans and recognize the need for modification/alteration to existing plans. Convey concerns and recommendations for changes to the ADP Supervisor for possible inclusion in the plan. * Comply with all associated laws, regulations, and agency policies and procedures. * Maintain a high quality of work performance. * Maintain high quality company-wide relations by using respectful and cooperative communication with coworkers. * Maintain high quality community relations by using respectful and cooperative communication with members of the community. * Maintain client confidentiality: this includes not disclosing personal information about any individual served by Las Trampas to community members or coworkers who do not have a direct need to know. * In all situations, ensure the rights and dignity of the individuals served by the agency. * Participate in all required meetings and trainings. * Adhere to the Las Trampas Mission Statement and to the principles of person-centered services. * Complete all other duties as assigned. May support individuals in preparing for and attending meetings with their support team, as well as advocating and facilitating changes to the Service Plan as necessary. Maintains required documentation and data, including ISP's, quarterly and annual evaluations, and case notes. Works with other direct support associates in the planning and delivery of activities consistent with individual and service objectives. Supervises individuals while they are at the service, and provides personal care support as required; which may include nutrition, personal hygiene, and assisting the individual to look their best. Supports individuals in finding their preferred way to communicate their needs and choices, and educates them in the use of the appropriate tools to help them find their voice. Safely and effectively uses all technology, alternative communication and adaptive equipment related to the individuals and the service. Trains individuals in the use of assistive technology as directed. Follows procedures, standards, guidelines, and best practices established in designated services; and adheres and complies with applicable regulations external to the organization, to ensure health and safety of individuals and service line staff, compliance and quality of services. Attends in-service trainings and meetings as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to demonstrate actively listening, patience, and empathy in communicating with individuals that use the service. Able to be creative and flexible, problem solve, organize and complete tasks in a timely manner, follow directions of supervisor (written and oral instructions), take initiative, work effectively with other team members and volunteers. Ability to walk, stoop, stand, and kneel for extended periods of time. Ability to push wheelchairs on a variety of terrain. Must be able to tolerate an outdoor work environment inclusive of a variety of weather conditions. Move and re-arrange furniture (i.e.: tables and chairs for activities). Ability to travel locally with individuals who use the service to participate in activities related to the service. Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
