They work closely with the physical therapy departments in and see the bulk of the upper extremity and hand patients. Though the primary caseload will be upper extremity and hand patients, they may also treats pediatric, neuro, and other diagnoses. There are many opportunities to grow this department based on the training and willingness to train in new areas, such as Lymphoedema, Parkinson's (LSVT BIG/LOUD), Women's health, and Pediatrics. The sky is the limit for the driven self-motivated therapist with a desire to grow and learn. Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy. Skilled in orthopedic upper extremity treatment. Certified Hand Therapist, Certified Lymphedema Therapist, Women's Health or other certifications are beneficial but not required. - willingness to work towards one or all of the above is ideal.
