The Research in Mathematics Education unit at Southern Methodist University seeks a full-time postdoctoral research associate to conduct research related to Tier 2 mathematics interventions implemented with students experiencing mathematics difficulty (MD). The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of education researchers and practitioners. They will play a key role in studying student and interventionist interactions with a Tier 2 fraction intervention and the outcomes of participating in the intervention program. Examples of targeted areas for scholarship include mathematics education, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), development of intervention programs, and measurement and assessment.
The postdoctoral researcher will have opportunities to collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and project staff from all project sites (Southern Methodist University, University of Texas at Austin, University of Missouri, and American Institutes for Research). The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to develop and lead their own complementary research activities aligned with the scope of the research unit.

Statement of Duties and Responsibilities
Support implementation of research activities for the U.S. Department of Education Office of Education Innovation and Research-funded project: S411B210032. Work with interventionists to conduct research activities. Contribute to manuscript preparation, grant-related reporting, and other dissemination efforts. Salary and Appointment

Minimum Qualifications

Improve traditional spectral only analysis methods used in Multivariate Curve Resolution (MCR) by applying approaches that use both spatial and spectral information.
Process, clean, and curate hyperspectral data collected with HCFM microscopes, and develop reproducible data processing and workflow tools.
Explore alternative algorithms and data driven approaches to enhance pigment localization and pigment classification accuracy.
Maintain clear documentation of model architecture, workflows, code, experiments, and results.
Provide leadership within the research group by taking ownership of project components and mentoring junior researchers.
Supervise undergraduate and graduate students in machine learning concepts, data analysis, experimental planning, and scientific writing.

Job Description
The Postdoctoral Researcher will develop and apply AI and data analytics tools to integrate and interpret complex environmental datasets for sustainable resource management. The position will develop predictive frameworks that connect field observations, remote sensing, and modeling to inform decisions on water, soil, plant, and energy systems at multiple scales.
The appointment is a one-year, full-time position in residence at Prairie View A&M University. The university retains the option to renew the appointment for a second year based on performance, research progress, and availability of funding. The maximum term is two years.
This position is funded by restricted funds or a grant. Continued employment is contingent upon the renewal of restricted or grant funds.
The salary is determined in accordance with the University's compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates' education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.
Responsibilities:
Develop an Integrated Environmental Data Repository combining soil, water, vegetation, energy, crop production, and atmospheric datasets.
Apply AI algorithms for environmental pattern detection and forecasting, including drought severity, vegetation stress, crop yield, and water contamination.
Construct predictive models to support sustainable resource management and decision-making.
Collaborate closely with the FEW Systems Postdoctoral Associate to link data analytics with field pilot systems and sustainability metrics.
Contribute to proposal development, peer-reviewed publications, and interdisciplinary grant initiatives.
Teach one to two courses in the combined specialization related to one of the above-stated expertise's.
Engage students and community partners through data literacy and sustainability workshops.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Ph.D. in Environmental Data Science, Geospatial Analytics, Computer Science (AI/ML), or a closely related field (earned within the past three years). Candidates that have finished all required coursework and exams but have not completed or defended their final dissertation may be considered but must have a conferred Doctoral Degree at the time of appointment.
Demonstrated experience in AI, predictive modeling, and environmental data systems.
Strong programming skills in Python, R, or MATLAB, and familiarity with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills with evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing environmental data repositories or cloud-based data infrastructures.
Familiarity with remote sensing platforms, environmental modeling, or data fusion techniques.
Record of publications in environmental analytics or sustainability modeling.
Interest in applying AI tools to climate equity and limited-resource community resilience.

The Postdoctoral Researcher will be pivotal in environmental stressor mapping and research activities to enhance extension and outreach efforts. Responsibilities include identifying and developing stressor maps, establishing a demonstration research testbed on the PVAMU Research farm, and implementing climate-smart production practices on selected farms. Additionally, the Coordinator will educate stakeholders, including farmers, on climate-smart resiliency and environmental benefits, and conduct flood, drought, and soil loss analyses at county and farm levels. They will assist in field and laboratory experiments to quantify carbon sequestration potentials and collect data on environmental stressors. Other duties involve manuscript development, grant proposal writing, participation in extension activities, collaboration with fellow researchers, and support for undergraduate and graduate students. This role also entails assisting principal and co-investigators and contributing to the university's commitment to teaching, research, and service excellence.

Responsibilities:
Lead USDA-NRCS funded project
Assist the principal investigator in ongoing research projects (experimental and modeling) related to hydrology, flood, drought, soil erosion and field experiments
Assist with the spatial data downscaling, prediction, evaluation, and impacts of land use/cover changes on eco-hydrologic processes, irrigation, and nutrient best management practices for sustainable use of natural resources.
Provide leadership and participation in in-situ data collection and analysis for modeling.
Assist in writing research reports, manuscripts, and grants, and present results at scientific meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in hydrological modeling, flood modeling, GIS, carbon, and crop modeling
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong quantitative and programming experience in R, Python, C, C++ and/or comparable languages.
Strong numerical modeling and analytical and statistical skills.
Strong interest in working with multidisciplinary teams.
Required Education and Experience:

The Prairie View A&M University National Center for Infrastructure Transformation (NCIT) seeks a dynamic and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher in Structural Engineering. The postdoctoral researcher will lead and participate in interdisciplinary, funded research projects related to surface transportation infrastructure systems. The selected candidate is expected to have the necessary background, assist with expanding NCIT's external funding portfolio through grant proposals, as well as work collaboratively with the NCIT leadership and faculty researchers to plan, develop and implement programs that meet the goals of the US Department of Transportation University Transportation Center Program.

Responsibilities:
Lead and support cutting-edge research in structural infrastructure systems and emerging structural engineering technologies.
