Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions. As a Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for helping build automation and application software for the next generation of tunnel boring machines (TBM), used to build new underground transportation systems and Hyperloops. This role can be varied across Back End, Full Stack, Embedded or all of the above. You'll work on designing and implementing tools to operate, analyze and control The Boring Company's TBMs. Within this role, you will have wide exposure to the overall system architecture. Responsibilities * Design, develop and maintain software across multiple domains - front end, back end, or embedded * Support software engineering & controls team writing code for tunnel boring machine. * Design and implement tunnel boring HMIs. * Ownership of data pipeline. * Visualize relevant data for different stakeholders using dashboards (e.g., Grafana) * Support and improve build pipelines Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent field. * Strong experience in software engineering with experience developing software applications in Python or C++ * Experience building real time data pipelines, preferably pulling from machinery/robotics * Development experience in JavaScript, CSS and HTML * Familiar with using SQL and NoSQL (time series) databases * Comfortable working in ambiguous, evolving environments * Ability and motivation to learn new skills rapidly * Capable of working with imperfect information Preferred Skills and Experience * Excellent communication and teamwork skills * Experience with embedded systems, real-time software, or device interfaces * Experience in designing and testing user interfaces * Knowledge of the protocols HTTP and MQTT * Experience using and configuring CI/CD pipelines and in writing unit tests * Experience working in Windows and Linux operating systems * Work experience in agile teams is a plus Additional Requirements * Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary. Facilitate corrective action teams (8D, PDCA, 5-Why, or comparable) to address defective quality in all products within the value stream. Prepare additional documentation at the customer's request. Also, to ensure all internal and external communications are delivered in a timely manner. Make initial quality decisions on a suspect product based on the design records, specifications, fit, form, and function of the product as well as the customer's requirements. Develop and manage sorting procedures for suspect product, quality. Work with manufacturing to develop standardized work instructions. Also, rework procedures for suspect product quality. Lead all quality team members on the manufacturing floor to ensure product quality is continuously monitored. Job Description: You will, Maintain the MechaSense website and User Portal. Lead projects to develop new features that enhance user experience of the portal. Work closely with the overseas team. Work closely with sales, operations team to implement features using agile approach. Basic Qualifications: B.S. or M.S. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering. Proficiency in Web Programming languages: HTML5, Node js, java script, php. Familiarity with backend databases, middleware & testing. Familiarity with iOS and\/or Android App Development. Ability to come up with creative solutions to challenging problems. Ability to work independently. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card holder. Desired Skills: Familiarity with Python programming language. Basic Linux knowledge. Prior Experience with IOT Devices. Familiarity with C\/C++ programming language.
