We have immediate openings for Community Support Specialists in the Winston-Salem-Region and surrounding counties (Ashe, Watauga, Wilkes, Alleghany, Surry, Yadkin, Davie, Randolph, Forsyth, Guilford, Rockingham, Caswell, Davidson, Stokes, and Alamance counties).
Pay Rate: This position starts at $18.03/ HR along with a $1250-$1500 Sign on Bonus for eligible shifts.

The Charles Lea Center is a national leader in providing supported living solutions so men and women with disabilities can live more independently. Additionally, we provide an array of other support services designed around supporting people to achieve their unique goals and interests. Depending upon the individual's needs and desires, Community Support Specialists (DirectSupportProfessionals), with the help of technology, provide the needed level of support and care, allowing the person to be more self-sufficient. Charles Lea Center staff is experienced at customizing supports and programs to fit the individual. In fact, it's what we do best! We support and train our staff to understand the needs of men and women who are living alone for perhaps the first time in their lives.

What You'll Do
Your care will greatly impact the lives of those you assist. You'll help clients with daily living activities, employment support, and social engagement, ensuring their days are meaningful. Daily documentation is required. In a residential group home setting, you may also transport residents to local community activities. You'll support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in gaining skills for greater independence at home, in their program, or in the community.

Key Responsibilities
Provide direct care and support to individuals in home and community settings

Minimum Requirements

Assist in performing an individual's job duties to maintain necessary production as well as model work behavior.
Provide supplemental evaluation, work development, and intensive training activities with individuals being supported according to their service plan and work schedule.
Recreation:
Responsible for supporting individuals at learning and increasing skills in all areas of independence including, but not limited to: Self-help skills, independent living skills, accessing community resources, and pursuit of leisure activities.
Participate in all program activities while ensuring safety, health, hygiene, and nutritional needs are met. Lift and transfer individuals as needed.
This position may have additional responsibilities of Vehicle Driver and/or Vehicle Monitor. The Vehicle Monitor is responsible for monitoring individuals supported while being transported to and from Empower Site including planned outings and fieldtrips.

What We're Looking For:
High School diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree preferred.
Two years' experience working with individuals with developmental and other various disabilities preferred.
Knowledge of the labor market and community services agencies, as well as skills in writing task analysis, systemic job training, counseling, advocacy, and supported employment preferred.
Must be comfortable with a fast-paced work environment to meet the program's performance expectations.
Valid North Carolina driver's license, clean driving record, and current insurance required.
Must have reliable transportation for occasional travel throughout the program's territory.
Must pass a criminal background check.

Position details: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm may vary based on client need
Location: Morehead City
Compensation: $15.00
Your Role in Our Mission
You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in
Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing; and employment support
You may transport the client to appointments and run errands
Help plan and organize their schedule
Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record

Depending upon the individual's needs and desires, Community Support Specialists (DirectSupportProfessionals), with the help of technology, provide the needed level of support and care, allowing the person to be more self-sufficient.
