Summary
HCPA is a Title I charter school that serves students through a school-wide plan for instruction that is focused on the needs of at-risk students. Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a licensed teacher, provide instruction to students regarding study skills, reading decoding, reading for a purpose, math strategies, instruction for student to understand and use math facts, science, social studies, etc.
Provide support to teachers to include instructional strategies focused on learning needs of HCPA students in daily classroom support and activities; to use lesson plans to implement instructional support
Present lessons to groups to enable classroom teacher to work with small group, etc.
Provide tutoring and support to individual students or in small groups to master content and complete assignments in all content areas to reinforce learning presented by classroom teacher.
Use information provided during professional development and training sessions (when applicable) to strengthen instruction by incorporating appropriate strategies in group activities under the direction of the classroom teacher.
Evaluate one's own instructional effectiveness; adjust methods of supporting student learning
Assist students to use all technologies in the school enhance teaching/learning.
Collaborate with all departments to provide support to meet the needs of students served by the programs.
Assistteachers or staff with data collection for student attendance, student grades, student behavior, etc.
Compile and maintain records and information as directed by the teacher.
Support teachers to maintain ongoing connections with students' families; Make phone calls and provide language interpretation to parents and students as applicable.

Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a licensed teacher, provide instruction to students regarding study skills, reading decoding, reading for a purpose, math strategies, instruction for student to understand and use math facts, science, social studies, etc.
Provide support to teachers to include instructional strategies focused on learning needs of HCPA students in daily classroom support and activities; to use lesson plans to implement instructional support
Present lessons to groups to enable classroom teacher to work with small group, etc.
Provide tutoring and support to individual students or in small groups to master content and complete assignments in all content areas to reinforce learning presented by classroom teacher.
Use information provided during professional development and training sessions (when applicable) to strengthen instruction by incorporating appropriate strategies in group activities under the direction of the classroom teacher.
Evaluate one's own instructional effectiveness; adjust methods of supporting student learning
Assist students to use all technologies in the school enhance teaching/learning.
Collaborate with all departments to provide support to meet the needs of students served by the programs.
Assistteachers or staff with data collection for student attendance, student grades, student behavior, etc.
Compile and maintain records and information as directed by the teacher.
Support teachers to maintain ongoing connections with students' families; Make phone calls and provide language interpretation to parents and students as applicable.
Complete any additional tasks as deemed necessary by the leadership team
Participate in ongoing and regular staff, team, and individual professional development; be a positive addition to discussions; participate in shared decision making.
Support a learning environment that is personally safe, culturally respectful, and educationally sound.
Assist classroom teachers in use of family and community resources to support the classroom instructional process.
Supervise student activities, which may include: Bus duty - assist with walking students to the busses at the end of the day and Breakfast and/or lunch duty - assist with monitoring based on a rotational schedule

HCPA activities. These events take place outside of the traditional school day. Hourly employees may select the activities that fit best with their interests. Please note that any work over 40 hours must be approved by the Designated Admin.

St. Cloud State University is seeking applications for potential Adjunct Instructors who qualify to teach in the College of Science and Engineering- Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Individuals interested in being considered for part-time, Adjunct teaching positions in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department should have the following qualifications.
Compensation is per credit, the current credit rate is a minimum of $1844 per credit.
This adjunct position will remain open for 1 year to allow departments' access to candidate pools when there is a need to hire an adjunct to teach a course(s) during defined academic semester(s).

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the deafblind student's case manager, Teacher for Blind/Visually Impaired (TBVI), Teacher for Deaf Hard of Hearing, provides a direct 1:1 link between the learner and his or her world. The intervener provides specialized communication support and critical connections to other people and the environment. As a support to the instructional staff, the intervener has both direct and indirect responsibilities for the deafblind student.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Helps the student gather information, learn concepts/skills, develop communication and language, and establish relationships that lead to greater independence
Facilitates access to the environmental information that is usually gained through vision and hearing, but which is unavailable or incomplete to the student who is deafblind
Facilitates the development and/or use of the student's receptive and expressive communication skills
Develops and maintains a trusting, interactive relationship with the student who is deafblind that promotes social and emotional development and well-being
Assists in implementing the student's individual plan in various settings/environments/locations including general and special education, lunchroom, hallway, and buses
Assists in creatively preparing instructional materials for meaningful access for the student with a dual sensory loss
Participates in team and department meetings in order to contribute valuable day-to-day knowledge of the student
Facilitates the student's connection to others by explaining and modeling the student's specific communication system, acting as a bridge to the world, and creating a safe and supportive environment that encourages successful interactions
Evaluates the physical setting in the classroom so as to position the student in an optimal learning situation
Works to establish and maintain open communication with the mainstream and Special Education staff
Demonstrates cooperation within the education team which serves the student
Provides information to the classroom teacher, in collaboration with the student's case manager, as to the role of the intervener in the classroom
