General Description / Primary Purpose:

Job Function:

Assist in maintaining the IR office website.

Position Summary
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois Chicago seeks an Institutional ResearchAnalyst to analyze data, develop models, generate dynamic reports, and create visualizations directly impacting and informing both operational activities and strategic decision making in matters that serves the entire UIC undergraduate student population. This role supports the departmental, college and university mission of promoting student success, improving policies, informing instructional budgets, and delivering effective, efficient instruction through data-informed decision-making. Work includes the establishment of benchmarks based on historical data to evaluate and forecast future performance as well as monitoring of real-time progress against these targets across key operational areas, including enrollment management, academic outcomes, and institutional reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work in collaboration with college leadership to determine what institutional information is most relevant to the various missions of the college. Identify and analyze patterns in institutional data that can inform policy as well as actions. Develop analytical models, identify trends and fluctuations, evaluate limitations of data, and specify the range of results needed for financial management planning, budgeting, and resource decisions. Extract and translate data into usable forms and narratives, providing colleagues, departments, and other college units with reports and visualizations that support day-to-day operations and inform long-term planning. Provide all operational reporting needed by Student Academic Affairs and determine the most efficient and accurate means of disseminating reports. Gather feedback on reports and visualizations and make improvements. Monitor student success factors pre- and post-enrollment, including course availability, and alert the Dean's Office to emerging issues. Develop and implement more effective data analysis methods to improve operations related to recruitment, admissions, enrollment, retention, and graduation. Serve as the College's expert on student data matters, including campus-level reporting and initiatives. Represent the College on advisory committees and play a leadership role in new data-related initiatives in collaboration with campus partners. Coordinate with the Learning Centers on data collection, outreach, information sharing, logistics, and outcome assessment. Minimum Qualifications

Job Summary
The Center for Health and the Social Sciences (CHeSS) seeks an entry-level ResearchAnalyst to join our innovative Methods Core team. The CHeSS Methods Core provides expert statistical consulting services to investigators across the University, supporting impactful research in healthcare delivery and policy. The ResearchAnalyst will utilize statistical programming skills in Stata, R, and SAS to perform advanced data management, analysis, and manipulation of large, complex datasets. Working under the guidance and supervision of senior staff members and faculty, the analyst will contribute to research related to healthcare economics, health services, and healthcare delivery sci-ence.
The ResearchAnalyst will work with large, complex data sources, specifically the Merative Mar-ket Scan Research Databases, which are a key component of the CHeSS Methods Core's data holdings. Projects will involve collaboration with multiple leaders and investigators throughout all stages of project development, from study design and implementation to results reporting and manuscript preparation. The ResearchAnalyst will also play an active role in supporting CHeSS's educational mission by participating in training activities, preparing lectures and workshop materials, and serving as a teaching assistant as needed. Job Summary
The University of Chicago Energy and Environment Lab (EE Lab) is seeking a ResearchAnalyst (RA) with strong research, methodological, and management skills to support large-scale environmental policy research projects. The RA will coordinate a growing portfolio of projects, including machine learning projects, designed to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of promising energy and environmental interventions. The RA will contribute to the design, implementation, and analysis of energy and environment research projects with direct applicability for policymakers. This role will work closely with U.S. government agencies, municipal governments, researchers, and a dedicated team of researchanalysts, data scientists, and staff, to support research projects led by the EE Lab and Faculty Director Michael Greenstone.
This position performs routine assignments related to scientific research projects. Ensures compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates. Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures. Writes articles, reports and manuscripts. Assists in drafting presentations on research findings.
Responsibilities
Works with partners to identify analytical approaches to answer specific research questions and to provide analytical support to government partners.
Constructs, trains, and deploys scalable machine learning algorithms for a variety of predictive analytics research projects.
Coordinates data collection, econometric analysis and provides quality assurance for research projects.
Contributes to research design, analysis, and implementation of policy-relevant research projects.
Works closely with Principal Investigators to coordinate project teams and junior staff; leads task supervision and quality oversight.
Prepares results for memos, presentations, and papers targeting both policymakers and academic audiences.
Ensures compliance with institutional, state and federal regulatory policies and procedures as well as internal data privacy and security policies.
Supports data collection and analytical needs of research projects. Conducts literature reviews and helps write reports and manuscripts. Ensures project compliance with University, IRB, and government policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
Engages stakeholders and maintains strong research partnerships with government agencies and with Principal Investigators to coordinate research and technical assistance projects, including communications and project deliverables.
Assists with writing grant proposals and managing grant reports.
Installs, sets up and performs experiments; interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.
Maintains recruiting and scheduling research subjects; assisting with developing or amending study protocols; assisting with developing data collection tools; assisting with building databases; and providing general administrative support. Has general awareness in research techniques or methods, regulatory policies and procedures, and relevant scientific field.

The Attention, Perception, and EXperience (APEX lab) as part of the Center for Practical Wisdom in the Department of Psychology at the University of Chicago seeks applicants for a researchanalyst position to support psychological research in the area of language impact. The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois Chicago seeks an Institutional ResearchAnalyst to analyze data, develop models, generate dynamic reports, and create visualizations directly impacting and informing both operational activities and strategic decision making in matters that serves the entire UIC undergraduate student population. This role supports the departmental, college and university mission of promoting student success, improving policies, informing instructional budgets, and delivering effective, efficient instruction through data-informed decision-making. Work includes the establishment of benchmarks based on historical data to evaluate and forecast future performance as well as monitoring of real-time progress against these targets across key operational areas, including enrollment management, academic outcomes, and institutional reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work in collaboration with college leadership to determine what institutional information is most relevant to the various missions of the college. Identify and analyze patterns in institutional data that can inform policy as well as actions. Develop analytical models, identify trends and fluctuations, evaluate limitations of data, and specify the range of results needed for financial management planning, budgeting, and resource decisions. Extract and translate data into usable forms and narratives, providing colleagues, departments, and other college units with reports and visualizations that support day-to-day operations and inform long-term planning. Provide all operational reporting needed by Student Academic Affairs and determine the most efficient and accurate means of disseminating reports. Gather feedback on reports and visualizations and make improvements. Monitor student success factors pre- and post-enrollment, including course availability, and alert the Dean's Office to emerging issues. Develop and implement more effective data analysis methods to improve operations related to recruitment, admissions, enrollment, retention, and graduation. Serve as the College's expert on student data matters, including campus-level reporting and initiatives. Represent the College on advisory committees and play a leadership role in new data-related initiatives in collaboration with campus partners. Coordinate with the Learning Centers on data collection, outreach, information sharing, logistics, and outcome assessment. Provide guidance and recommendations regarding expected academic outcomes by maintaining an in-depth understanding of College and Campus policies and programs. Advise faculty and staff during the grant-writing process on the use of data for assessment and evaluation. Stay informed about new software, processes, and training needs as campus systems evolve. Ensure College analytics are current and accurate. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree; a degree in Liberal Arts preferred.
* Minimum two years of experience in data-related research or data analytics in education.
* Ability to work with large institutional databases (such as an Enterprise Data Warehouse).
* Experience and skill in data analytics and in communicating data to various audiences.
* Experience in data manipulation, data structure creation, report development, and visualization design.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on providing clear, concise, and transparent information.
* Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and develop project ideas proactively.
* Comfort initiating actions and asking questions to determine best practices for data collection and maintenance.
* Strong skills in software applications and reporting and data visualization tools, such as SAS, Business Objects, Microsoft Access, SQL, and Tableau.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree preferred.
* Experience at UIC or in higher education preferred.
