Summary Description
The BusDriver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from sports and field trips. Ensuring vehicle operation is in a safe operating condition; and ensuring safety of students during transport, loading and unloading from buses. While maintaining order and enforcing safety regulations on the bus. The position requires a positive attitude, punctuality and dependability are mandatory characteristics of the position. Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to work both individually and in group settings.
Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the safe pick up and drop off of K -12 students in 2 -3 designated parking locations.
No highway, street or traffic loading/unloading points.
CDL Class A, B or C with passenger and schoolbus endorsement (passenger endorsement only OK). The school is willing to help obtain a CDL for the right candidate and commitment.
Current DOT medical card. School pays for medical exam & renewal every other year as required.
First aid and CPR certification or willing to obtain (provided by the School).
And any other duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization's Values.

SUMMARY
This position requires a professional transport (truck) driver to drive an IMSA transporter (with trailer) to and from events and/or fly to and from events. In addition to professional truck driving duties, this position is also responsible for set-up and teardown of equipment utilized throughout the event week/weekend as well as maintaining all equipment in a functional and professional appearing manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Drive transporter, often on an interstate basis, for all required events. Must be able to drive to events as prescribed while maintaining all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements necessary to operate a transporter (i.e., Commercial Driver's License, testing, drive time regulations, etc.).
Truck and trailer loading and unloading; setting up and breaking down of awnings, tech equipment and any equipment as needed.
Truck and trailer scheduling and minor maintenance.
Work to support all weekend officials by maintaining equipment and supplies; staff any IMSA trailers as needed.
Responsible for equipment maintenance and care including cleaning, restocking and upkeep.
Prepare truck logs, complete timecards, and fuel reports after all trips.
After performing set-up duties at the race event, will also be asked to perform other tasks to help augment other staffing needs around other departments.
Required to operate forklifts and supporting equipment.
Periodically work at the IMSA transportation hub on off-event days.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Approximate travel required: 80% including weekends.

Valid Florida driver's license for the past five (5) years.
Valid Florida commercial driver's license (CDL):
Class B;

Responsibilities
Obey all traffic laws.
Observe all mandatory safety regulations for schoolbuses.
Pick up and discharge students only at authorized stops.
Maintain discipline when students are on the bus and report undisciplined students to school authorities.
Adhere to assigned schedule.
Respond to dispatch requests.
Maintain bus in a clean and orderly condition.
Check bus daily for mechanical defects and for fuel and oil levels.
Notify the proper authorities in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
Attend a District-provided training to obtain a Defensive Driver Certificate within the first year of employment.
Exercise responsible leadership on all school trips.
Transport only authorized persons.
Report all accidents and complete required accident reports.
Enforce regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
Attend all required safety and training sessions, including special needs training.
Complete required paperwork in its entirety and on time.
Attend parent and school conferences as requested.
Attend assigned area meetings.
Conduct required bus evacuation drills.
Administer First Aid/CPR/AED as needed for illness, injury, or life-threatening emergencies per certification training guidelines.
Serve in a team leader role when working with other schoolbus employees.

Currently hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or be willing to complete the provided/paid training to obtain one.
Operate a school transportation vehicle in accordance with DOT, Commercial Drivers Regulations, Colorado Motor Vehicle Code, CDE Operational Rules, ECSD Transportation policies and emergency procedures and FCC Regulations
Pass annual CDE written, driving, pre-trip tests and annual MVR check.
Pass required CDE Mountain and Adverse weather driving tests and operates a school transportation vehicle safely and skillfully in mountainous terrain and under all adverse driving conditions.
Possess a high level of responsibility, for the safety of students on the bus.
Renew licenses, endorsements and certifications as required by Federal and State law.
Communicate, in a timely manner, with parents and staff regarding issues of student welfare.
Make appropriate, spontaneous decisions, which affect the safety and wellbeing of passengers and other individuals and property near the bus.
Submit all required forms and records accurately, completely and in a timely manner.
Perform preventive maintenance, operate, pre-trip and clean district owned vehicles and equipment to prevent damage and maintain a positive public image.
Maintain reliable transportation, an accurate timepiece and a working phone.
