What You'll Do in This Role:
As a Resident Care Assistant, you'll play a vital role in enriching the lives of our residents by providing compassionate personal care, supporting daily activities, and offering essential assistance in our assisted living and memory care areas. Your dedication will help create a safe, warm, and nurturing environment where residents feel valued, supported, and at home.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Help residents with mobility, including transferring them from beds to chairs, assisting with walking, and using mobility aids.
* Assist with meal preparation, serving, and feeding, ensuring residents receive proper nutrition and hydration according to their dietary needs and preferences.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, engaging in conversation, recreational activities, and social interactions.
* Help residents maintain a clean and organized living environment, including making beds, tidying rooms, and doing light housekeeping tasks.
* Escort residents to appointments, activities, and outings as needed.
* Follow established care plans and protocols for each resident, ensuring individualized care and attention.
What You'll Need:
* Must be 18 years of age or older
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting and caregiver role, preferred.
* Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance.
* Previous working knowledge of Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) system, preferred.

Accurately and timely document Activities for Daily Living (ADL's), intakes and outputs and other appropriate information on charts.
Wake residents, assist with morning grooming and move resident to dining room as needed.
Change soiled and unsoiled linen; distribute clean towels frequently throughout shift.
Ensure resident safety by immediately detecting, correcting and reporting situations that have a possibility of causing accidents or injuries.
Observe and immediately report resident reactions and changes in condition; take and record vital signs, as required.
Safely lift and reposition residents as necessary.
Pick up meal trays timely; distribute snacks daily.
Encourage and actively participate in restorative measures; assist in activities.
Professionally intervene in resident disputes or disruptive behavior, if necessary, to maintain proper facility harmony and resident safety.
Perform other tasks in support of your team including: staff nursing station and answer phones as needed; assist in dining room with meal serving and feeding as needed; and work schedules, assignments and units as requested.
Follow the Buckner 5STARS of customer service and timely respond to requests for assistance or information.

Attention to detail is critical as an error could have life threatening consequences
Ability to exercise patience, tact, initiative, judgment, and confidentiality (following established guidelines)
Ability to recognize changes in a resident's appearance, attitude, and condition
Personality attuned to the requirements of meeting the needs of the infirm and aged, and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and others

What you'll do:
* Ensure resident care is the best it can be by following the care plan.
* Get to know our residents by sharing stories with them while providing comfort, transportation, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with daily living needs.
* Contribute to community harmony by providing emotional and social support to residents.
* Help residents with personal hygiene, such as providing bedpans and helping them bathe.
* Safely lift and reposition residents as necessary.
* Provide adjunct patient care as needed.
* Have an eagle eye and taking notice when resident behaviors change and letting shift leaders know.
What you'll bring:
* High School diploma or GED.
* Current Texas NurseAideCertification.
* Current CPR Certification.
* Minimum one-year related experience preferred, or appropriate formal education or Buckner training.
* Working knowledge of basic health care practices and procedures, including infection control.
* Requires ability to read, write and understand business documents which are written in English.
* Requires ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers. Requires ability to make self clearly understood by others.
* Requires ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions.

Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are not as critical as the ability to distinguish small details and markings very near to the observer. Color perception for some tasks

We are seeking a Certified Medication Aide to join our community, committed to delivering outstanding care to our residents. As a Certified Medication Aide, you will play an important role in all phases, providing care to a wide variety of residents in a way that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. What You'll Do:
As a member of our team you will have an impact on our clients through accomplishment of the following responsibilities:
Assist with the accurate implementation of the prescribed health care plan.
Accurately and timely administer medications to residents according to prescribed schedule.
Accurately administer and timely document regularly prescribed medications, as permitted, after personally preparing (setting up) the medications.
Accurately administer PRN medications if authorized by the charge nurse.
Accurately and timely document all PRNs according to state standards in all areas of the chart.
Observe and report to supervisor any reactions and side effects of medication administered.
Take and record vital signs of residents, as required, prior to administration of medications which could affect or change the vital signs.
Apply specifically ordered ophthalmic, optic, and nasal medications, as instructed; administer oxygen per nasal canula or a non-sealing facemask, in an emergency.
Count narcotics, give all routinely prescribed narcotics, document it on Individual's sheet and medication sheet- at discretion of supervisor.
See that the medication room, med cart, and refrigerator are kept clean and orderly at all times.
Accurately log refrigerator temperature on a daily basis.
Report incidents, as directed, on medication errors, accidents, or unusual events, on residents, visitors, or employees; and, as directed, chart some resident conditions or other pertinent information.
Restock med cart with ample supplies; check expiration dates on all medication.
Perform other tasks in support of your team including: staff nursing station and answer phones as needed; assist in dining room with meal serving and feeding as needed; and work schedules, assignments and units as requested including performing NurseAide resident care duties.
Follow the Buckner 5STARS of customer service and timely respond to requests for assistance of information.
What You'll Bring to the Team
To be successful in this role and a great addition to our team we need you to come with the following:
Current Medication AideCertification
CPR/First Aidcertified
Professional knowledge of basic health care practices and procedures including infection control
Basic understanding of the uses, results, and dispensation of medications
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job including bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, climbing, kneeling, walking, and standing over 75% of shift
Attention to detail is critical as an error could have life threatening consequences
Ability to exercise patience, tact, initiative, judgment, and confidentiality (following established guidelines)
Ability to recognize changes in a resident's appearance, attitude, and condition
Personality attuned to the requirements of meeting the needs of the infirm and aged, and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and others

What You'll Do in This Role:
As a Resident Care Assistant, you'll play a vital role in enriching the lives of our residents by providing compassionate personal care, supporting daily activities, and offering essential assistance in our assisted living and memory care areas. Your dedication will help create a safe, warm, and nurturing environment where residents feel valued, supported, and at home.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Help residents with mobility, including transferring them from beds to chairs, assisting with walking, and using mobility aids.
* Assist with meal preparation, serving, and feeding, ensuring residents receive proper nutrition and hydration according to their dietary needs and preferences.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, engaging in conversation, recreational activities, and social interactions.
* Help residents maintain a clean and organized living environment, including making beds, tidying rooms, and doing light housekeeping tasks.
* Escort residents to appointments, activities, and outings as needed.
* Follow established care plans and protocols for each resident, ensuring individualized care and attention.
What You'll Need:
* Must be 18 years of age or older
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting and caregiver role, preferred.
* Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance.
* Previous working knowledge of Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) system, preferred.
