    Boston Outside Application Specialist PURPOSE The purpose of the Application Specialist position is to provide technical and sales support to SMC sales personnel, as well as SMC customers and distributors. The Application Specialist will provide project support for their assigned branch. In this role you will: Operational support of chemistry and biology laboratories providing a “single point of contact” for laboratory scientists - material flow, freezer management, sample management, service delivery, equipment availability, process optimization. Execute routine laboratory support procedures and preparations like media/buffer prep, solvent/reagent mixtures, filtrations, material weighing, some physical testing, and witness senior staff experiments. Maintain lab inventory and labeling (chemical reagents, glassware, and gas cylinder levels). Verification and maintenance of laboratory equipment like balances, pH meters, sonicator cleaning, and glass washing. Works day to day on lab operation and safety including submitting work orders or SHE observations as needed.
