POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Controller, the Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting for corporate entities and certain other excluded assets managed by the company, as needed. The Sr. Corporate Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities. As a key contributor to the team, the role supports ESRT's financial reporting and operational excellence and leads key accounting functions, including general ledger management, month-end/quarter-end close activities, account reconciliations, and compliance with GAAP and internal controls. This role ensures accurate and timely financial information, partners closely with cross-functional teams, and contributes to continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive, with the ability to operate independently while supporting ESRT's high standards of accuracy, accountability, and collaboration. RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Process monthly journal entries, including corporate allocations and accruals, and maintain the integrity of the general ledger
Perform monthly/quarterly budget vs actual and month-over-month variance analytics, monitor expenses, and provide financial insights to support decision-making by management
Prepare monthly/quarterly reconciliations and other supporting schedules in accordance with SOX requirements
Collaborate with Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy team to record journal entries related to significant non-routine transactions
Review and record monthly corporate credit card expenses
Review entries and workpapers for accuracy and appropriate documentation, and investigate and resolve discrepancies
Assist with annual budget and quarterly reforecast process, through data entry, analysis, and recommendations
Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries to support quarterly and annual audit requests
Record transactions, prepare financial statements and investor reporting packages for certain managed assets
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounts Payable, Marketing, Legal, and IT, to ensure timely submission of information and adherence to monthly and quarterly deadlines

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Assistant Controller, VP - Finance will report into the Chief Financial Officer, Converge Re. Assists Director, VP of Finance, and CFO with cost reporting, budgeting, and CFR requirements as needed for CP Rochester and Happiness House.
Assists in preparation for annual financial audits including year-end, pension, 403B plan, and worker's compensation audit for CP Rochester and Happiness House.
Manages monthly rent and benefit payments for individuals at CP Rochester and Happiness House.
Maintains intercompany account reconciliations between all affiliates.
Assists in completing annual cost reports for the agencies.
Utilizes accrual basis of accounting and follows generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Participates in Finance Department meetings.
Adheres to the agency's policies and procedures as well as department guidelines.
Performs other duties at the discretion of the Director and Vice President.
Maintains a high level of confidentiality relating to the individuals we serve and the organization's financial information.
Participates in conferences, workshops and in-service training as needed or recommended to maintain professional knowledge, enhance job skills, and support personal growth and development.
