• PRN as Needed Mon - Fri 7:00 am - 6:00 pm
What You'll Do
Administers active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, and heat, light, sound, water, and electrical modality treatments such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, ultraviolet, infrared, and hot and cold packs.
Administers traction to relieve neck and back pain.
Instructs, motivates, and assists patients to learn and improve functional activities such as perambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily living activities.
Observes patients during treatments and compiles and evaluates data on patients' responses to treatments and progress and reports orally or in writing to PhysicalTherapist.
Fits patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
Confers with members of physical therapy staff and other health team members, individually and in conference, to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.
Performs clerical duties such as taking inventory, ordering supplies, answering telephone, taking messages, and filling out forms.
Measures patient's range-of-joint motion, length and girth of body parts, and vital signs to determine effects of specific treatments or to assistPhysicalTherapist to compile data for patient evaluations.

Associates Degree from an approved/accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Job Description:
Provides patient care services along with direct treatment and follow-up as assigned by the PhysicalTherapist.
Updates the care plan in coordination with the therapist and the physician, and plan with the patient/family toward adjustment.
Plans monthly patient re-evaluations with the therapist, coordinating with the therapist more frequently if needed, and plan the weekly patient schedule.
Documents patient care data accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely matter, reflecting evidence of improvement/progress/decline in patient's condition.
Submits the daily/weekly patient visit schedule to the Scheduler.
Communicates as necessary with intercompany and intracompany contacts.
Discusses treatment progress with the therapist, the patient/family, and physician as necessary.
Coordinates with Patient Care Coordinator in making referrals to appropriate disciplines.
Coordinates monthly supervisory visits from the therapist.
Attends and participates in patient care conferences, meetings, and mandatory in-services as scheduled. Read the minutes of patient care conferences not attended.
Job Requirements:
Requires completion of an accredited physical therapy assistant program and current State licensure.
Minimum of one year's therapeutic experience in a non-home health care environment; prefer two years of experience.
Strong knowledge of theory and concepts relating to the practice of physical therapy and the ability to treat patients for whom a physician's order exists.
CPR certified and possess strong communication and organization skills.
Minimum of twelve hours of continuing education annually.
Must accept travel and working conditions as assigned.

This OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST ASST. (COTA) opportunity is per diem and offers a convenient schedule. This dynamic individual will be responsible for administering occupational therapy modalities of treatment as supervised by the staff occupational therapist. Administers treatments and physical agents as directed by the staff occupational therapist after the occupational therapist has evaluated the patient. The occupational therapy assistantassists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The occupational therapy assistant participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training and organizational safety programs.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
* Responsible for providing treatment as directed by the staff occupational therapist. Adheres to standards of physical medicine practice.
* Ability to observe and evaluate treatment effect, discusses observations with staff occupational therapist.
* Ability to perform components of an appropriate assessment on all patients as related to the therapy requested and provided and reassessments as per policy. This includes neonate, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric patients and the general adult patient population.
* Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
