The University of Texas Permian Basin's Human Resources Department welcomes applications for the position of Student Worker under our Federal Work Study Program Salary Range $12.00 - 14.00 an hour Essential Functions This position is responsible for assisting office staff with various administrative needs and special projects. We are seeking a self-motivated, well-organized, and professional student employee who possesses exceptional verbal and written communication skills. The selected student employee may work up to 19.5 hours per week.
1. Serve as a receptionist: answer the phone, greet, and utilize available resources to direct visitors.
2. Provide routine office administrative assistance: respond to inquiries, take messages, type memos, reports, and forms; perform data entry, compile, and summarize data for reports.
3. Operate office equipment including a computer and copy machine.
4. Prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines with successful completion of work.
5. Works closely with direct supervisor to coordinate training, job assignments, and exchange information.
6. Works on additional office projects and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
1. Must be Work-Study eligible and have completed application through Financial Aid.
2. Experience required will vary depending on specific job duties (depending on department)
3. Related coursework may be required (depending on department)

Schedule
Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.

To expedite the development of a Cardiothoracic Imaging Library of teaching cases for the residents, and other interested trainees such as pulmonology and cardiology fellows, future body fellows. The job consists of extract from raw data stored in multiple PowerPoint presentations stored within the UTMB one drive and another group of Cardiac MR studies that have been collected during the last 2.5 years, stored in a folder in PACS.
Job Duties:
* To further organize these unclassified cases: (estimated 300-400 cases)
* The major objective is to edit the pictures in a way that are ready for presentation and divide them in three different PPT presentations, one for CXR studies, one for CT studies and one for MR studies.
* Each PPT should contain one picture per slice, (originally multiple pics in one single slice), ensuring patient info cropped, specific field of view optimized.
* Collect patient info: medical record number, time of the study and diagnosis if available, and type it in the notes for every slice. With this add an excel sheet with slide number, patient info if available (MRN) and diagnosis when available.
* To classify Radiology's cardiac MR library available in PACS since 2022, in categories: Ischemic, non -ischemic cardiomyopathy, valvular disease, shunts, congenital.
* This process will require an excel sheet stating MRN, Name of Patient, Diagnosis, Date of Exam, Notes and follow up exam dates if available.
* Out of these cases, develop a PowerPoint presentation with all the key images from each case available in PACS.
* Once these tasks are complete, another source of data will be delivered, an excel sheet where at least 300-400 cases have been entered.
* This excel sheet will need to be paired up with another PPT including the key images/pictures cropped and free of patient information.
* Once this is performed for every case, the excel sheet provided will be updated such that every case will have a column stating which slices of the PPT correspond to that case.
