Job Summary:
Bizzell US is seeking an experienced Plumber with substantial facilities maintenance expertise to join our Facilities Maintenance and Management team at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems across the JPL campus, ensuring that all facilities operate efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities:
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures.
• Conduct regular inspections of plumbing systems to identify and resolve issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the longevity and reliability of plumbing systems.
• Collaborate with the facilities maintenance team to support overall campus operations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
• Respond to emergency plumbing calls and provide solutions in a timely manner.
• Utilize hand and power tools, as well as specialized plumbing equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
• Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay current with industry standards and best practices.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at time.

Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in plumbing preferred.
• Valid plumbing license.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing with a strong emphasis on facilities maintenance.
• Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Perform preventative maintenance, repairs and installations for many utility distribution systems.
* Install, troubleshoot, modify and repair new and existing utility, supply and disposal systems and equipment such as sewage, water, oil, pneumatic, and gas distribution systems, water closets, tubs, flush valves, sinks, basins, fire sprinkler systems and showers; also installs, equipment such as steam heating, steam generation and hydraulic systems, steam generators, flash and expansion tanks; condensate, vacuum and circulating pumps and radiators.
* Use materials (such as aluminum, copper, iron, nylon, lead, vinyl, PVC and rubber) requiring a knowledge of their resistance to heat and acids, their strength and resiliency and how to connect tubing made of different materials by using special fittings such as nylon to connect plastic and metal tubing.
* Operate all power and hand tools used in pipefitting, drainage cleaning systems such as pipe bending, threading, grooving, and cutting machines, pneumatic caulking hammers; drain cleaning machines (mechanical and kinetic), electric hand drills and electric saws.
