Job Description
Thermo Fisher Scientific is currently seeking a Front of Week Night Supervisor, Formulation Manufacturing for the Compression Manufacturing Area in Cincinnati, OH.
**Front of Week Shift:** **Monday-Wednesday 6:00pm-6:30am**
**Responsibilities:**
+ Coordinates and completes the production schedule for Commercial Manufacturing.
+ Supervises, directs and lead employees of 10+ employees
+ Coordinates all company policies with respect to GMPs, validation, quality, safety, health, attendance, and environment.
+ With QA, makes quality decisions regarding batches in each manufacturing area.
+ Tracks departmental metrics and facilitates improvement efforts.
+ Develops employees and coordinates training on new equipment.
+ Improves quality of processes as well as identify safety and efficiency improvements.
+ **Requirements:**
+ High School Diploma/GED required
+ Bachelor of Science in appropriate engineering discipline (ex: Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical), preferred.
+ 3 to 5 years previous related experience in engineering, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and process equipment
+ Previous Leadership experience required.
+ Previous experience in a Supervisor role, preferred.
+ Manufacturing equipment knowledge and process preferred.
+ Broad-based background in pharmaceutical manufacturing with a combination of experience and skills in one or more of the following areas: product/ process development, production support, engineering, validation or quality assurance.
+ Strong written and verbal communications as well as project management skills are essential as the position requires interaction and collaboration with the scientific staff, internal and external customers, schedulers, project managers and production technicians.
+ **Desired Qualifications:**
+ Good working knowledge and understanding of GMPs related to dry products manufacturing.
+ Ability to motivate, influence and develop team members.
+ Ability to solve problems and make decisions independently.

The Manufacturing Supervisor on 2nd shift provides leadership for the whole shift. The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for providing direction and support to a production team on 2nd shift (3pm - 11pm).

* Responsible to integrate operations foundation systems to secure equipment basic conditions (CIL/CL/DH) across the shift.
* Produce safe quality product by running to target specification.
Learning System:
* Responsible for the delivery of the shift learning plan.
* Identify skill gaps, develop training plans and track employee progress.
Know your Operation, Data and Technology
* Gain working knowledge to collect, analyze and interpret manufacturing data to make informed decisions (overuse, performance).
* Build a comprehensive understanding of the production system, equipment and the product transformation process.
* Develop strong understanding of inventory management principles, material specifications, quality control procedures, and traceability systems for Ingredients, Materials and Finished Products.
* Deepen understanding of daily management and process ownership across the team (examples: DH, CL, CIL, etc.).
* Secure fluency of Theory of Operation (TOO) and Problem-Solving tools and processes (IR, UPS, QCO).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* High School Diploma
* 1+ year of manufacturing or frontline leadership experience

* Demonstrated technical capability and knowledge of unit operations and machinery (at least one production platform)

The salary range for this position is $70100.00 - $105200.00 / Annually. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Have general knowledge and able to work with computers and programs (Excel, Word, MFG PRO).
Willingness to act as an additional manufacturing resource by taking a hands-on approach to day-to-day production activities.
Must regard safety as a core value; must serve as role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies and procedures.
Must be able to actively contribute in a team based environment, encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal.
Must have a strong service and quality focus, be able to address issues effectively when problems arise, and take initiative to understand root cause then communicate/educate team in a timely manner.
Must have demonstrated record of flexibility and dependability in order to support production and customer focus.
Must have a strong detail orientation and be able to follow written and oral instruction.
Must be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests.
Must be able to lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Requirements
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing in a similar production environment.
Track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Project Management and Time Management skills.
Track record of implementing Lean manufacturing processes.
