The Floater plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the daycare by providing support across various classrooms and age groups. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
The Floater will ensure that a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children is maintained while adhering to the daycare's standards and state regulations.
At this time, we can not offer childcare for staff, as we are at capacity in all rooms.

Duties
Key Responsibilities:
Support Classroom Teachers: Assist lead and assistantteachers in various classrooms, providing support where needed, including leading activities, supervising children, and maintaining classroom management.
Adaptability Across Age Groups: Work with different age groups, adjusting care and teaching approaches based on the developmental needs of each group.
Maintain Ratios: Ensure proper staff-to-child ratios are maintained, especially during breaks, staff absences, or transitions between activities.
Substitute for Absent Teachers: Step in as a temporary teacher when regular staff members are absent, ensuring continuity of care and daily routines.
Assist with Transitions: Help children transition smoothly between activities, such as moving from playtime to mealtime, or preparing for nap time.
Classroom Preparation: Assist in preparing materials and setting up activities, ensuring the classroom is organized and ready for the day's schedule.
Child Supervision: Maintain a safe and secure environment by actively supervising children, addressing their needs promptly, and intervening when necessary to ensure safety and well-being.
Communication: Collaborate with other staff members to communicate effectively about the needs of each child, any concerns, and the general flow of the day.
Classroom Cleanliness: Support the cleaning and maintenance of classrooms, including sanitizing toys, cleaning surfaces, and organizing supplies.
Follow Policies and Procedures: Adhere to all daycare policies, procedures, and state regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood setting is preferred.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and age groups.
Understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices.
Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
A strong understanding of child development.
Must clear full background check and must pass health assessment
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Certification: CPR and First Aid certification is desired or willingness to obtain
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
Ability to engage in physical activities with children, including outdoor play.
