General Responsibilities as a PLA teacher:
Having a genuine love, patience, and understanding of children

Develop lesson plans for your students following our monthly themes, values, and goals.
Understand that PLA is a play based learning center but we also implement a full creative curriculum with structure. Candidates must be willing to provide the best of both worlds for our students.
Willingness to learn each classroom schedule, maintain a positive mindset, and be a team player for every classroom you float in to support
Must keep a flexible mindset and embrace the day to day changes of being in different classrooms
Keep the children on a consistent schedule with structure as well as having a general understanding that some days you may need to toss out the lesson plan to let them run energy off outside instead.
Observe each child to help them learn, grow, and build self-esteem
Encourage children to interact with each other appropriately and following our PLA discipline policy.
Facilitate nap/snack and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
Follow DSS compliance regulations & our PLA standards. We have weekly compliance checks to make sure you are set for success during DSS visits.
Capable of utilizing a tablet/ phone to track your students, send daily messages/updates to parents, upload pictures of the day, and keep up with logging their feed via our software, Brightwheel.
Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
Willing to remain professional, positive, and communicate effectively and respectfully with teammates.
