Temporary Description Internship Eligible A Camp Healthcare Manager is responsible for the general health and safety of campers and staff, maintaining camp infirmary, administering medications and first aid care, reviewing health histories, health screening checks, and keeping accurate and detailed records. As a Healthcare Manager you will: • Establish and maintain regular infirmary hours. Conduct daily check of infirmary and equipment for safety, cleanliness and good repair. • Establish and follow appropriate medical routines including record-keeping in the daily medical log, proper disposal of medical waste, managing and safeguarding medications and utilizing approved standing orders. • Establish and maintain contact with physician and with local hospital facilities: give first aid: provide care in case of illness and accident as directed by physician: take responsibility for calling the physician and when advisable accompany campers and staff on trips to physician's office and/or hospital. • Requisition necessary equipment and supplies throughout camp. • During staff and camper check-in, collect all medications, store in a locked cabinet and dispense as indicated by prescribing physician. • Notify Camp Director when parents/guardians should be advised of illness or accident. Contact parents/guardians after consulting the Camp Director in the event of an accident, illness, or injury.
