This position performs a variety of complex preventative maintenance tasks, repairs, and additions to Travis County jail facilities. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining the building infrastructure of the jail facilities, specific to but not limited to plumbing, electrical repairs and installations, servicing machines and troubleshoot and repair pumps, water heaters, and boilers in compliance with Texas Commission on Jail Standards (TCJS) and maintain accurate inventory.

Distinguishing Characteristics
This is the first in a series of Corrections building maintenance related job classifications within the Maintenance job family. This classification is distinguished by complex maintenance work requiring advanced proficiency in multiple skill areas using independent judgment. This classification also performs lead duties. This classification works in secure facilities located within a correctional environment in proximity of inmates. This classification may require a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the jail facilities and to ensure TCSO is meeting TCJS standards and regulations.
* Maintains and repairs plumbing systems throughout TCCC and TCJ.
* Maintenance includes inspection and cleaning of work areas and equipment.
* Functions as an independent worker in the performance of building maintenance duties. Provides technical advice and assistance to peers and supervision.
* Provides recommendations regarding replacement or upgrade of facilities and equipment.
* Performs a variety of preventive maintenance routines on equipment, building components and facilities.
* Performs periodic and routine walk through inspections of assigned facilities, identifies work requirements, creates work orders using a computer and performs work assigned.
* Records time and materials used in the work order system. Requests for needed tools, equipment, supplies and materials to perform assigned tasks. Monitors expenditure of supplies and controls inventory of equipment and tools.
* Completes electrical and plumbing repairs.
* Assists with heating and air conditioning system repairs.
* Replaces light fixtures, and switches.
* Assists with the repair of door locks, security control panels, video monitors and security cameras.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: High School diploma or G.E.D. AND five (5) years of increasingly responsible building maintenance experience, including preventive maintenance and repairs to equipment, buildings and facilities;
OR,
Any combination of education and experience that has been achieved and is equivalent to the stated education and experience and required knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this job.
Licenses, Registrations, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification or must be obtained within one (1) year of date of hire.
Valid Texas Driver's License.

Subject to standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motion, reaching, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing, pulling, balancing, client/customer contact, squatting to perform the essential functions. Subject to extreme temperatures, outside elements, noise, vibration, contact with dust, fumes and hazardous chemicals, foul odors, animal and human fecal matter, insects, and rodents. Requires working at heights from ladders and scaffolds.
This position requires that you work within a secure jail facility. This position requires working in a correctional environment within proximity to inmates and confinement areas. While normal business hours are maintained, this position has on- call responsibilities on a rotational basis.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
This is the second in a series of two park maintenance-related job classifications within the Maintenance job family. Base Pay: $14.09 Hourly . 29-40 hours per week. NOTE: Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and other irregular hours. SUMMARY: Performs general maintenance and repair tasks at assigned county parks. Required to attend annual sea turtle monitoring certification class and comply with the beach maintenance permit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains Park or beach landscape which may include any combination of mowing, trimming trees and bushes, removing garbage and/or working on a garbage truck.
Repairs Park structures and facilities; paints structures and equipment; erects picnic tables, and cabanas. Assists in the repairs of plumbing and electrical in campground and buildings.
Operates tractors, mowers, hand tools, portable pumps, generators and other equipment.
Cleans and sanitizes restrooms. Cleans vehicles assigned to park. Cleans fishing piers and fish cleaning racks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School or GED. Must be 18 years old.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Texas motor vehicle operator's license. Any employee who drives a vehicle on official business must have a driving record which meets standards set by the County and the County's insurance carrier.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of repair and maintenance techniques. Ability to use various hand operated equipment and small motorized equipment. Ability to work effectively with other employees and the public. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers. Distinguishing Characteristics
This is the second in a series of four (4) road maintenance-related job classifications within the Maintenance job family. This classification is distinguished by performing general road maintenance work, drainage system maintenance work, mowing grass, removing brush and debris from rights-of-way, and performing general traffic control at work site. This classification may require a flexible work schedule in order to meet the needs of the department.
* Performs general road maintenance labor associated with tasks required to repair roadways and rights-of-way, including mixing and pouring concrete, sealing cracks and patching roads, and cleaning drains and ditches.
* Operates vehicles and equipment associated with roadway and right-of-way maintenance, including but not limited to pickup trucks, tractors, slope mower, mini-excavator, small compactor, woodchipper, skid steer, forklift, lift/bucket truck, hydro mulcher, dump trucks, knuckle boom, tank trucks, loaders/backhoes and rollers.
* Removes trash, erects fences and barricades, installs culverts, repairs, and erects signs, places hot or cold asphalt mix, repairs driveway approaches and applies dust control emulsion to roadways.
* Installs and maintains traffic control signs and asphalt markings and striping in compliance with the state, federal and local laws, codes, regulations, and procedures. Assists in fabricating road signs and barricades for traffic control in road construction areas.
* Installs, erects, and processes materials associated with roadway and right-of-way maintenance.
* Provides assistance, as directed, during emergency situations, such as floods, severe weather and accidents.
* Performs general traffic control at the job site to ensure a safe working environment. Places and gathers traffic control signs and barricades within construction work zones and directs traffic within zone. Observes safety precautions and follows safety rules and regulations.
* Performs preventative vehicle and equipment minor maintenance and repairs. Checks oil, water, fuel, services tires, makes appropriate adjustments prior to leaving the job site. Maintains mileage and service record on vehicles driven.
* Maintains accurate daily record of daily activities including time keeping, materials utilized, equipment deployed and other job-related job site issues, inputs data into computer software.
* Attends meetings, conferences, or other educational classes and participates in training offered by the County and applies information to work assignment.
* Communicates with employees at all levels and the public to receive and relay factual information and to facilitate public relations.
* Cuts and removes brush, mows grass and weed eats along roadside, and removes safety or health hazards, including dead animal removal and disposal from rights-of-way.
* Assists with indigent burials and cemetery grounds maintenance, as required.

Education and Experience:

We continue to grow and are seeking a solution-oriented and customer-focused Pool Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible to provide excellent on-site pool cleaning and pool maintenance services to each and every customer they are assigned. This includes following our proven pool cleaning methods, handling pool chemicals in a controlled and safe manner, following all established protocols and sharing lessons learned with the rest of our team.
The ideal person for this position will love to work outdoors. They will be a self starter who has the ability to work independently with minimal oversight and guidance. They will handle all matters with integrity and embrace the concept and requirements of delivering "resort-quality service". Responsibilities:Success in this position will be determined by the following measurable results:
Manage a swimming pool route that includes the cleaning of swimming pools each week.
The ability to manage a stocking of chemicals on the truck and properly adjust the water chemistry for each pool each week.
The ability to utilize a smart phone for our Pool Ops mobile platform.
The ability to spot equipment repair needs and communicate those needs to the office.

Requirements:Requirements for this position are that you have:(1) a valid driver's license with a clean driving record; and(2) the ability to lift up to 100 lbs.No other specific experience is required as we will teach you the ASP methods designed to give our customers a great looking pool and to maximize your earning potential; however,
a high school degree and Certified Pool Operator License is preferred.
Bonus Potential:This position has the potential of earning an annual bonus by the company when specific gross revenue goals are met for the year. Assists maintenance personnel in all areas of building maintenance including plumbing, electrical and air conditioning. Responds to emergency calls during evening, midnight and weekend shifts. Education, Experience and Training: Graduation from an accredited High School/GED program. 6 months of general maintenance experience in a mechanical field not limited to building maintenance or one (1) year of formal work-related training or a combination of the two (per Facilities hiring/promotion matrix).
Special Note: Six (6) months of work related experience can substitute for six (6) months of formal training or any combination of the two.
Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must have a valid Texas Drivers License and good driving record. Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code. Must provide a 10-year driving history. Must pass a security clearance check. Position is required to work rotating days/shifts.

Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Ability to climb ladders and lift weights in excess of 50 lbs. assisted. Ability to operate equipment efficiently and safely. Ability to withstand prolonged sitting, standing, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, stretching, lifting and climbing ladders. Must be able to work in varying conditions surroundings, and all weather conditions. 1. Performs minor maintenance, makes emergency repairs and adjustments to buildings, plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems. Coordinates with On Call supervisor for assistance as needed.
2. Performs scanning, logging, inspections and/or maintenance of building mechanical equipment: logs meter readings, checks consoles and floor units for proper operation.
3. Works on jail doors: adjusting, repairing parts of door mechanisms, as necessary.
4. Performs inspections on main and auxiliary mechanical systems, including air conditioning, boiler condensation tanks and pumps.
5. Performs weekly and monthly operational and maintenance inspections.
6. Maintains and completes reports, as required.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
