Manages, directs and provides leadership and strategic oversight of the Trinity Health Medical Group's (THMG) Regional Professional Coding team. Partners with auditing, billing, finance, and operations to promote coding accuracy and adherence to local ministry and regional Trinity practices and policies. Design and builds structure, workflows, and guidance for resolve of coding issues in charge router, charge review and claim edit WQs assigned to regional coding team to ensure coding compliance and minimize audit liability. Provides emphasis on adherence to CMS and other insurance carrier standards, optimizing revenues and the avoidance of monetary settlements from third party audits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
* Provides leadership and manages the work of assigned regional staff, including the monitoring of staff competencies, hiring of new staff, orientation of new assignments, developing goals and objectives, conduction of annual performance appraisal and the utilization of performance resolution process, including performance improvement plans and corrective action, as needed.
* Works with providers and ambulatory practice leaders to develop accurate, effective, efficient, and compliant charge capture and coding processes that ensure revenue is recorded for all services provided and clinical documentation exists to support all charges and coding assigned.
* Ensures systems and processes comply with federal, state and payer-specific coding, billing and reimbursement guidelines.
* Identifies patterns and trends impacting coding and reimbursement to coordinate with THMG Revenue Cycle Site Operations, Professional Billing, Auditor, and Educators, EPFS, and Professional Revenue Integrity educational materials and payer communications to ensure coding accuracy.
* Oversees coding and charge capture reconciliation with Regional Professional Coding Supervisor(s).
* Manages team compliance to initial and ongoing audit recommendations, ensures educational materials and programs are available to staff, and safeguards are in place to promote accuracy.
* Assists in the development of software applications in assigned areas to resolve simple and complex issues and aligns action plans with local and Trinity goals and objectives.
* Monitors daily trends to help guide Revenue Site Operations leadership team with targeted areas for improvement to achieve THMG top performance metrics and minimize Charge Router, Charge Review and Claim Edits dollars in Pre-AR and AR.
* Works with Informatics leadership to identify and resolve trends with process gaps causing errors in charge capture and provider compensation.
* Works closely and collaborates with assigned THMG region's Finance, Operations, and Practice Leaders, Providers, C-Suite Payer Strategies, EPFS and other regional leaders and colleagues across the organization.
* Responsible for Regional Professional Coding departmental budget.
* Motivates staff to achieve the highest levels of performance, working in conjunction with all key stakeholders to prevent revenue leakage and maximize potential revenue for the region.
* Optimizes staff and overall revenue performance through process redesign, policy/procedure implementation, communications, continuing education and professional development activities, staff empowerment and feedback.
* Attends coding and reimbursement workshops and webinars; communicates related information to appropriate departments and ensures understanding and assists with applicable process or system changes as needed.
* Establishes and monitors key performance measures and targets to achieve optimal performance; ensures placement of appropriate internal controls; and employs corrective action to remedy problems or shortfalls.
* Other duties as needed and assigned by the director.
* Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws/regulations, the Trinity Health's Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM (ICD-9-CM) and HCPCS level II coding guidelines, along with CCI edits and Medicare claims processing manual contents in a multi-facility, integrated health care delivery system or revenue cycle or consulting experience, as normally obtained through a bachelor's degree in related field and five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in revenue cycle operations or equivalent combination of education and progressive revenue cycle experience.
* Current standing as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or RHIT.
* In addition to CPC or RHIT, Certified E&M Coder (CEMC), and/or Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) preferred.
* Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of management experience in a multi-facility, integrated health care delivery system, revenue cycle, or consulting experience.
* Four (4) to six (6) years of experience in multi-specialty coding, with comprehensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party billing rules and regulations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with a strong customer-service orientation.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
* Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively.

* This position operates in a remote environment.

Position Summary
LiveWell Group (LWG) is seeking an experienced Director of Finance and Administration to provide operational leadership and oversight of the company's financial and human resource functions. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, this role will oversee financial administration and human resources operations for our real estate and property management portfolio. This role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while simultaneously guiding benefits administration and HR strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate finance and a proven track record of managing the administrative lifecycle of a growing team. The individual will be responsible for the financial and operational oversight of the following business lines:
LiveWell Brokerage: Assist with operational finances of brokerage platform, including receipt of escrow payments, remittance of payments to independent contractors, and administrative support for licensed agents.
LiveWell Construction: Assist with cost analysis, financial modeling, and real estate development activities. Manage budget controls, cost management, and monthly bank requisitions. Ensure financial alignment with project feasibility and tax implications.
LiveWell Communities: Supervise financial operations of the property management division, including revenue management, expense controls, and resident service cost analysis.
LiveWell Energy: Direct the financial management of the community solar energy platform. Assist with assessment of financial impact of sustainability initiatives such as EV-charging and electrification.
LiveWell Group: Lead the HR function across all business lines, ensuring consistent culture, equitable benefits, and streamlined administrative workflows for our 50+ employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Develop, implement, and manage the comprehensive financial planning and analysis process for property management operations. This includes financial modeling to evaluate portfolio health, identifying trends in property-level performance, and providing actionable insights to optimize the company's financial trajectory.
Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all entities. Ensure accuracy while maintaining a transparent audit trail for stakeholders and ownership.
Banking Oversight: Provide oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. Ensure the integrity of the financial data and manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across business lines.
Budgeting and Strategic Forecasting: Coordinate the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts by working in close partnership with internal staff. Analyze variances between actuals and budgets to assess property performance and ensure alignment with the company's long-term growth targets.
Relationship Management: Serve as point of contact with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions. Facilitate the seamless flow of information for tax filings, annual audits, and the maintenance of credit facilities or project-based financing.
Payroll and Compensation Administration: Manage the comprehensive payroll function, ensuring timely and accurate processing for all employees and independent contractors.
HR & Benefits Administration
Benefits Management: Lead the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, employee retirement savings plans, and wellness initiatives; manage annual renewals and open enrollment.
People Operations: Oversee the onboarding and offboarding processes, maintaining all personnel records and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
Policy Development: Maintain and update the Employee Handbook; ensure HR policies align with the company's core values.
Performance Support: Partner with department heads to facilitate performance reviews and compensation planning.
Compliance: Ensure company-wide compliance with local, state, and federal employment regulations (EEO, FMLA, COBRA, etc.)
Skills and Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or human resources; CPA, CMA, or SHRM/PHR certification preferred.
Meaningful experience in accounting/finance, specifically within real estate or property management.
Proven experience in HR administration, including managing benefits providers and payroll systems.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with HRIS or property management software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio) is a plus.

Professional accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA), certified management accountant (CMA) or chartered global management accountant (CGMA) is a plus.

Maintains records of capital funds, expenditures and cash outlays. Certifies capital funding for expenditures and estimates costs for fixed asset accounting and reimbursement reporting.
Interfaces with City Comptroller and land and construction agency records to establish costs of construction, debt management and related services furnished by the City for Corporation purposes and maintains separate records of these cost auditable to City source records.
Assists in audits of financial records as required by the Corporation, the City Comptroller, City Construction Board, State Emergency Financial Control Board and reimbursement agencies.
Prepares forecasts of fund and cash requirements and requisitions cash from the City Capital Project Fund.
Administers an employee time recording and billing system to record time and cost of staff design and construction services for each capital project and vouchers and receives cash from the city Capital Project Fund for staff services provided under interfund agreements.
Administers contract change control requirements.
Evaluates purchase and contract regulations, procedures and standard contracts and certifies purchase and receipt of all major equipment and permanently identifies the piece and record data in the major equipment inventory control system.
Develops procedures with criteria for Prequalification of Contractors as provided in Section 8 of the Corporation Act. Solicits, evaluates and communicates prequalification status to all contractors maintaining lists and individual contractor financial and experience records.
Serves as a member of the Architectural and Engineering Selection Board.
Supervises and directs the staff assigned to assist in the performance of these major duties and evaluates employee performance.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Masters Degree in Business Administration, Science, Health Care Administration, Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university or a license as a Professional Engineer or registration as an Architect; and,
2. Eight years managerial experience in Capital Program or budget work in the construction field including four years experience in budget administration and management of health care facilities; or,
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Job Summary
The position will manage the Accounting Department staff in our Union City and Covina campuses; its activities are essential to accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions for the Masonic Homes of California and Acacia Creek. The Division Controller will evaluate internal processes, procedures and controls and recommend changes and modifications to the CFO. The Division Controller will assist in the timely and accurate preparation of the year‑end audit as well as preparing and filing all other compliance filings. This position will be a partner to the CEO as it relates to the financial functions of the facilities.
Essential Functions 1. Leadership, Team Management and Collaboration
Supervise the accounting staff located at both the Union City and Covina campuses coordinating their activities across both the Masonic Homes and Acacia Creek.
Manage, mentor, and develop the Union City and Covina accounting team, including setting performance goals, conducting performance evaluations, and providing career development guidance.
Ensure staff are cross trained in accounting functions to support the Union City and Covina Accounting team growth and business continuity.
Promote a collaborative work environment, driving efficiency, accuracy, and accountability within the Union City and Covina accounting team.
Work closely with Masonic Homes and Acacia Creek Executive Directors, department managers and other operations staff to assist in budget management and to interpret, investigate and monitor financial performance. Provide financial guidance, analysis, trends to support their decision making.
Work cooperatively with the Grand Lodge Controller and Director of Financial Planning on all financial and reporting matters as required.
Partner with CFO to ensure issues are resolved promptly.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to achieve business objectives and promote financial accountability.
2. Financial Reporting and Accounting Oversight - account analysis and Month End/Year End Close - Masonic Homes and Acacia Creek
Take ownership of the general ledger of Masonic Homes and Acacia Creek to ensure that all transactions of both entities are recorded in a timely and accurate manner, in compliance with GAAP and other appropriate and applicable guidelines, laws and regulations.
Analyze data for accuracy, prepare journal entries, generate financial reports, perform financial research and analyses, perform audits, prepare month‑end accruals, troubleshoot as directed, or required.
Lead the month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis. Ensure timely month‑end close - within 15 business days of the following month.
Ensure all financial data is accurate and complete by managing and reviewing key account reconciliations. (e.g., balance sheet accounts, inter‑company transactions, accruals, prepaid expenses, bank reconciliations, and other GL/SL reconciliations related to Masonic Homes and Acacia Creek. As appropriate and required, prepare account reconcilation and analysis.)
On a monthly basis, review and approve reconciliations prepared by other accounting staff prior to the preparation of financial statements by the 15th business day of the following month. Ensure up‑to‑date reconciliation and clear/investigate long outstanding reconciling items.
Communicate with the CFO any issues and/or write‑off recommendations.
Oversee and ensure accurate resident's monthly billing.
Monitor accounts receivable and payable to ensure timely collections and payments, optimizing working capital for the Facilities.
Resident Asset Accounting
Effectively manage/oversee the complete resident asset process including the maintenance of the resident database and inventory to effectively and correctly account for these assets, as requested and required. Manage and maintain database of residents and assigned assets in amortization software to accurately and timely amortize assets received.
Oversee the process of financial qualification for new residents and the annual requalification process.

Leverage technology and accounting software (Concur, POS, Matrix Care, Sage Intacct) to streamline processes, improve accuracy, and reduce manual efforts/entries.
6. Others
Act as system administrator for the accounting software system using MatrixCare and Sage Intacct. Acts as key point person for any related software implementation for Masonic Homes and Acacia Creek.
Perform all duties assigned in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
BA/BS degree in accounting or business, CPA or MBA desirable.
Minimum ten years of accounting experience including all major functions (A/R, A/P and G/L) as well as experience reading and analyzing financial statements.
3-5 years management and supervisory experience (staff of 5 or more preferred).

The Actuarial Analytics/Forecasting Principal analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. Establishes metrics, provides data analyses, and works directly to support business intelligence. Evaluates industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's short, medium, and long‑term financial and competitive position. The Actuarial Analytics/Forecasting Principal provides strategic advice and guidance to functional team(s). Highly skilled with broad, advanced technical experience.
The Actuarial Analytics/Forecasting Principal ensures data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business needs/issues, troubleshoots problems, conducts root cause analysis, and develops cost‑effective resolutions for data anomalies. Works with senior executives to develop and drive segment or enterprise‑wide functional strategies. Advises one or more areas, programs, or functions and provides recommendations to senior executives on matters of significance, and as an advanced subject matter expert competent to work at very high levels in multiple knowledge and functional areas across the enterprise.

Critical to the success of this position, the Financial Clearance Director, Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for all aspects of the Financial Clearance Shared Services operations to include but not limited to:
Establishing programs, protocols, policies and procedures to support the financial clearance process and working with all entities to standardize processes.
Developing and analyzing reports to assist management to enhance revenue cycle performance and maximize operational efficiencies.
Implementing strategies designed to improve the effectiveness of the financial clearance process through increased automation and controls.
Responsible for regulatory and compliance activities associated with the financial clearance process and ensuring compliance with Revenue Cycle Management policies and procedures.
The incumbent must also possess the ability to ensure that appropriate communication is maintained across all entities and specialties (administrators, ambulatory clinic managers, physicians, Office of Managed Care, utilization review, Finance directors, third-party payers, and patients) to ensure all information is obtained to secure appropriate insurance authorization and/or payments prior to services being performed. This position is responsible for managing the inpatient and outpatient financial clearance component of the Revenue Cycle for multiple entities and, as such, must establish relationships at all facilities and be familiar with each institution's registration/scheduling practices and payer contracts, although they may not be under the direct control of the incumbent. In addition, knowledge of managed care and regulations impacting patient accounting, as well as the ability to integrate activities under his or her direct control with the overall Revenue Cycle Management function, are essential elements of this function.
Qualifications
Requires Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or Information Management is preferred.
CRCE/CMPA/CHFP certification preferred, leadership role in industry organizations such as HFMA, AAHAM, or MHA strongly encouraged.
A minimum of ten (10) years of hospital receivables/operations management experience within a large academic medical center or health system, with at least six (6) of those years in a management capacity.
Prior work experience must include revenue cycle management projects and/or responsibilities, and a significant role in a redesign project and/or management experience working in a highly automated, centralized business office environment.
Salary Range
$160,000 to $205,000 per year. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
