CMMS experience. Strong cost management, change management, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills. Proven leadership, coaching, and staff-development ability. Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to analyze technical data, prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and manage multiple deadlines. Experience with scheduling, staffing, training, and basic OSHA, HACCP, and cGMP requirements. Ability to work weekends. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of maintenance supervision in a food or supplement environment. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field. THE POSITION: is a member of the Public Works Department and plans, manages, assigns, reviews, and participates in the work of staff responsible for performing the operations and activities of the maintenance, repair, construction, debris and graffiti removal of City streets, sidewalks, signs, ADA curb ramps, pavers, markings, medians, and other structures; ensure work quality, and adherence to established policies and procedures; and perform the more technical, and complex tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: * Plan, manage, review and participate in the daily work of staff responsible for performing the operations and activities of the maintenance, repair, construction and graffiti removal of City streets, sidewalks, ADA ramps, pavers, roadsides, right of way, signs, markings, medians, and other structures. * Plan, direct, coordinate, schedule, and review the daily workflow for all assigned staff; review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures; meet with staff regularly to identify and resolve problems. * Manage and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, processes, and priorities for assigned programs and areas of responsibility; recommend and administer policies and procedures. * Monitor and evaluate the efficiency, effectiveness, and accuracy of service delivery methods and procedures; recommend, within departmental policy, appropriate service and staffing levels. * Prepare and maintain a variety of reports, records, purchasing documentation, research and analysis of strategies; maintain logs and records of work performed and materials used; complete work orders and routine reports as required; utilize and maintain computer programs and databases. * Oversee safety and preventative maintenance programs, filings, reporting, and programs as required for vehicles, street markings, signage, DOT and all local, county, state and federal related requirements; monitor the work areas to ensure acceptable work standards and safety practices are maintained. * Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel; work with employees to correct deficiencies; recommend and if necessary, participate in discipline and termination procedures. * Perform consistent and regular scheduled maintenance and complex repair duties related to the repair and maintenance of City sidewalks, curbs, gutters, streetlights, and streets, including pavement, traffic, directional and informational signs, traffic and pavement markings, and other structures; conduct and document regular inspections of all areas listed above and assign needed repairs. * Operate and train staff on equipment such as air compressors, jackhammers, thermo-plastic equipment, concrete maintenance equipment; motor vehicles such as trucks, loaders, paint stripers, front loaders, tractors, backhoes, forklifts, arrow boards, hand tools; and other similar maintenance or construction equipment. * Provide assistance and oversee assigned staff during special City events; oversee road closures and assign work crews as needed; coordinate activities with other departments. * Respond to emergency situations including flooding, oil spills, wind events, dust storms, road closures, traffic accidents, roadway impediments, power outages, and other related incidents. * Oversee and participate in the development and administration of the division's annual budget; participate in the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; implement adjustments. * Serve as the liaison for assigned activities with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies; negotiate and resolve sensitive and controversial issues. * Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive citizen, vendor, and other city employees' inquiries and complaints. * Monitor and control supplies and equipment; order supplies and tools as necessary; prepare documents for purchasing equipment and supplies; process payments. * Oversee and maintain contract service agreements; prepare and administer contracts for purchases and services; coordinate with contractors in providing contract services. * Conduct a variety of organizational studies, investigations, and operational studies; develop and recommend modifications to programs, policies, and procedures as appropriate. * Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new technology and innovations in the field of street maintenance. * Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
