Warehouse associate job at Tryon Distributing Co
FULL TIME Monday-Friday 6am starting shift 10 hours.
This position is responsible for unloading trucks and accurately placing product in appropriate warehouse locations. This position requires a high degree of accuracy and a sense of urgency, while meeting safe operating standards according to Tryon's established guidelines.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Moving product from pallet jack to shelving or vice versa
Moving and placing product on the automatic conveyer belt system
Straightening product on shelf or in bin locations
Picking orders
Reading instructions
Being aware of potential safety hazards, such as moving forklifts and other power equipment
Operating forklifts and other power equipment
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 or older
Ability to lift up to 175lbs
Must be a team player and work well under minimum supervision
Knowledge of safe work practices
Ability to work in a warehouse environment in all types of weather
Ability to work required shift as defined
Available to work overtime as needed
Ability to work within tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment
PREFERRED
High School Diploma or GED
Prior warehouse or distribution center experience
Prior experience or certification on power equipment (forklift, pallet jack, reach truck)

This role will pay an hourly rate between $15 to $17.

Responsibilities
Responsible for helping set up and stocking all concession stands, portable locations. Attention to detail including company standards of inventory control, sanitation, presentation, and quality is always required.
Ensure the cleanliness of all concession stands by removing all trash and recyclables.
Responsible for rotating food products during the stocking process to ensure the freshest products are being served to guests.
Responsible for the upkeep of the warehouse including sweeping, mopping, organizing storage areas and cleaning commissary dishes.
Flexible work schedule. Must be able to work nights and weekends
Ability to speak, read, and write in English
Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management stand and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience working in a distribution/warehouse/commissary environment is preferred.
Physical Dimensions:
Performing the duties of this position involves extensive and continuous standing and walking. Routine activities require the employee to be able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include the ability to adjust focus, peripheral vision and close vision.

Maintain Accurate Inventory
Perform cycle count at specified intervals.
Responsible for appearance and layout of inventory storage areas.
Utilize Kanban and Poka-Yoke quality tools to reduce errors and mistakes with inventory.
Tag and inventory all materials.
Kit components for assembly work orders.
Locating requested parts in material storage areas, confirming part number is correct with requester, and issuing proper parts to work orders.
Receiving
Oversee and process the physical and system receipt of goods against purchase orders.
Inspect material or product upon receipt per purchase order requirements and company policies.
Organize, tag and deliver materials to the appropriate location.
Verify shipments against manifest, invoices, or purchase orders and examine for accuracy upon arrival.
Shipping
Process and schedule shipments (Internal and External).
Oversee the preparation of product (packing, preservation/safety of product) for shipment to customers or outside service providers.
Pack, seal, label or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, postage meter or USP/FedEx software.
Purchasing
Order non-work order materials (ie. Shop supplies, cutting tools, machine parts/needs, office suppliers, etc) based on requisitions, inventory cycle counts and re-order points
Communicating potential delivery issues to your Supervisor.
Monitoring cost - pay attention for variation in price (increases), and report to Supervisor any concerns or ideas for potential cost savings.
Requisition and store shipping materials; supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
Are you the Inventory Control Specialist we're looking for?
To excel as an Inventory Control Specialist at Roush Yates Racing Engines, candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate degree in a related field or at least two years of experience in purchasing, shipping, and receiving, preferably in an environment utilizing an ERP system. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively collaborating with team members and ensuring clarity in inventory-related tasks. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are critical, as you will be managing various inventory duties simultaneously while adhering to quality system requirements.
Proficiency in computer skills, including Excel, Word, and email applications, is necessary to manage inventory records and documentation efficiently. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate the ability to work well within a team environment and possess the capability to operate a forklift, enhancing the efficiency of material handling processes in the Machine Shop. Must have the ability to lift items up to 50lbs.
Last, but not least, for ITAR compliance, all employees at this location must be a US citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
