We are seeking a skilled and experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to own the management, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of our PostgreSQL database systems. The DBA will partner closely with Engineering, DevOps, and Security teams to support product functionality, observability, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain PostgreSQL databases in cloud environments (Azure preferred).
Track database health, performance, and capacity using cloud-native and third-party monitoring tools.
Own backup strategy, integrity checks, retention policies, and disaster recovery planning.
Configure and maintain replication, failover, and high-availability setups across environments.
Build and maintain automation for provisioning, migrations, monitoring, and maintenance using IaC and scripting tools.
Improve performance through partnering with development teams on query tuning, indexing, schema design, normalization, and indexing strategies.
Implement security best practices for RBAC, encryption, auditing and patching.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents in collaboration with DevOps and engineering.
Develop root cause analysis findings and implement preventative actions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
5+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA in a production environment.
Strong knowledge of Postgres internals, configuration, performance tuning, indexing, and vacuum strategies.
Experience with cloud-hosted database services (Azure PostgreSQL, Citus, Amazon RDS)
Familiarity with CI/CD-driven schema migration tools (Flyway, Liquibase, and Atlas)
Strong understanding of data security, encryption standards, and access controls.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to operate in production SaaS environments.
Proficiency with Ruby or Go (preferred but not required).
Microsoft SQL Server experience (preferred but not required).
Excellent collaboration and communication skills and able to partner effectively with software engineers, Security, DevOps, and SREs.
Candidate must be able to submit verification of their legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
Salary Range: $115,000 - $165,000 per year.

Essential functions of this role include:
Supports the administration and ongoing enhancement of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM database by maintaining data integrity, optimizing system performance, and assisting with configuration updates.
Configures and maintains workflows, dashboards, and reporting tools within Microsoft Dynamics 365 and related platforms to support evolving business objectives.
Assists with the integration of legacy applications with modern tools and platforms, helping streamline business processes and improve the member experience.
Utilizes Microsoft 365 Customer Engagement and Customer Insights to enhance member interactions. Assists with developing personalized communication strategies and targeted outreach efforts, as well as analyzing engagement metrics to provide actionable insights.
Leverages Power BI and SQL for data analysis and advanced reporting. Creates dashboards and visuals for real-time insights into membership activities, trends, and operational performance.
Acts as a liaison with the IT department to support improvements, modifications, and issue resolution for applications used by the Membership department and ICI website. Participates in discussions regarding new tools and system enhancements.
Assists with maintaining fund and company records in the CRM and legacy membership database using N-CEN filings and other external data sources to ensure data accuracy. Processes and inputs data on company and fund mergers and liquidations.
Researches and compiles information using internal databases, SQL, Power BI, and external resources to generate reports and support decision making.

This role is primarily office-based, with occasional after-hours support. We offer a flexible schedule with some remote work.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required, along with at least three years of experience in web development and database administration.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ColdFusion, SQL, and server-side scripting is highly preferred. Familiarity with web server technologies, cloud platforms such as Azure, and reporting tools like SSRS or Power BI is also preferred.
