The position requires an associate's degree and some experience working within an early childhood setting, or a High school diploma/GED. Child Responsibilities include instructing Preschool aged children in activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth. The position requires clearance through the New York State Central Registry and New York State office of Children and Family Services. Experience with high scope curriculum, and bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. RESPONSIBILITIES Follow all OSHA requirements. Assistant Teacher DEPARTMENT: Early Childhood Services REPORTS TO: Center Director SALARY: $ 32,659-35,457 (benefits included, directed by Union Contract) SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday 8 am to 4 pm, 9 am to 5 pm, 10 am to 6 pm (Schedule varies depending on the needs of the program) Job Summary: This position serves as an Assistant Teacher for a Grand Street Settlement Early Childhood classroom. The Assistant Teacher will work collaboratively with the Group Teacher to ensure the successful operation of a classroom with a total of 15-20 children.
