Summary of Job Duties:The UAMS Schmieding Developmental Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our multidisciplinary team, focusing on evaluating children from birth through adolescence. This role involves conducting comprehensive speech/language and developmental evaluations, providing initial and ongoing diagnoses, and collaborating with families and healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care. The SLP will document findings, offer treatment recommendations, and communicate results effectively while adhering to certification regulations, state and federal laws, and institutional policies. The SLP will serve as a clinical resource, supervise student clinicians, and engage in professional development.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's in Communicative Disorders
AR License in Speech-Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence, or be eligible
Ph.D. in Communicative Disorders preferred
Two (2) years of pediatric experience in speech-language evaluations
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Strong understanding of pediatric speech and language development.
Proficiency in diagnostic tools and techniques for assessing developmental disabilities.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multidisciplinary setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, families, and colleagues.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing speech-language pathology.
Ability to analyze and interpret clinical data to support accurate diagnoses.

Diagnostic Evaluations and Documentation: Conduct speech/language and developmental evaluations using standardized tools and observations. Collect clinical data, consult with caregivers and providers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to determine diagnoses and treatment recommendations. Document findings and communicate results effectively.
Clinical Resource: Serve as a clinical resource for other disciplines, prioritize services based on patient needs, and provide ongoing consultation. Supervise student clinicians as needed.
