C&A Psychologist, Colorado Springs
University of Colorado 4.2
Health psychologist job at University of Colorado
University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department of Psychiatry Job Title: C&A Psychologist, Colorado Springs #00842834 - Requisition #38430 The Child and Adolescent Division of the Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full time Position for a Child/Adolescent Psychologist in Colorado Springs. Please note this is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experiences and qualifications as indicated below.
The Child and Adolescent Psychologist will provide direct patient care to children, adolescents, and their families at the Children's Hospital Colorado Telstar location. This includes diagnostic, assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for youth with a variety of mental health concerns including (but not limited to): depression, anxiety, emotional distress and difficulty regulating emotions, self-harm, suicidality, post-traumatic stress, difficulty communicating with others, and other behavioral challenges. The Child and Adolescent Psychologist may have the opportunity to provide services in both the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and outpatient programming.
The Partial Hospitalization Program provides evaluation and intensive mental health treatment for youth who experience serious mental and behavioral health challenges that prevent them from functioning optimally at school, at home, and in the community. These children and adolescents experience distress that exceeds the capacity of traditional outpatient services but are able to remain safe in a community setting as well as individuals stepping down from higher levels of psychiatric treatment including inpatient hospitalization. Youth attend the program daily from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm for approximately two weeks (dependent on the individual treatment needs of patients and their families). The primary treatment modality is group therapy and the curriculum has been derived from the transdiagnostic approach. Patients also receive individual and family therapy and medication evaluation and management. Another component of the program is family involvement: parents participate in psychoeducation groups as well as daily check ins. The Child and Adolescent Psychologist is a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and is responsible for providing groups for both patients and family members according to the established curriculum.
The outpatient program provides evaluation and mental health treatment for children and adolescents who experience mental and behavioral health challenges but are able to function and remain safe at home, at school, and in their community. Youth treated in outpatient settings typically attend individual or family therapy once weekly. They may also receive medication evaluation and management from another provider in the clinic such as a Psychiatrist or Advanced Practice Nurse. The Child and Adolescent Psychologist would be responsible for developing and implementing an individualized, family-centered, trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment plan for the patients and families in their care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provides direct patient care to children, adolescents, and their families, including completing diagnostic evaluations, as well as providing evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy.

C&A Psychologist, Colorado Springs - 38430 Faculty
The Child and Adolescent Division of the Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full time Position for a Child/Adolescent Psychologist in Colorado Springs.
