Processes, measures and mixes ingredients for making a variety of sandwiches such as chicken, tuna and egg salad; portions roasted/baked meats by slicing; makes sandwiches as ordered; labels sandwiches for display and places on trays.7.     Food Service/Food Service Laborer Additional Information: Show/Hide Job Description Title: Internal Stock Clerk (Civil Service Title: Laborer) This position involves routine manual labor requiring physical endurance and reliability in the performance of stocking, delivery, and food service support duties. Employees assist in the receiving, storing, and distribution of food and supplies throughout district buildings, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to cafeterias and storage areas. Qualifications: * Ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects * Ability to problem solve * Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions * Still in operating material handling equipment (pallet jack, hand truck) * Regular and predictable attendance * Qualified to be employed as a laborer per Civil Service and NYS Education Department guidelines. Responsibilities: Shall include but are not limited to the following: * Receives and unloads deliveries of food, beverages, paper goods, and supplies. * Verifies shipments against purchase orders and reports shortages or damages. * Stocks and rotates inventory in storerooms * Prepares and stages daily delivery orders to schools and service sites. * Loads and unloads trucks; delivers food and supplies to district cafeterias and kitchens. * Operates hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other approved equipment to move stock and materials. * Assists food service staff with the setup, breakdown, and transport of serving equipment. * Maintains cleanliness of loading docks, storage areas, and delivery vehicles. * Performs minor maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and organizing stock areas. * Assists in the disposal of refuse, recycling, and food waste as directed. * Follows all safety procedures, including safe lifting and material handling practices. * May assist in kitchen cleaning, dishwashing, or basic food prep tasks during high-demand periods. Reports to: Director of Food Service Salary: Minimum starting salary $17.70 plus $1/hour for labor (negotiable based on experience) as per the Civil Service Employees Association agreement.
