Job Description *WEEKEND AVAILABILITY REQUIRED* The Material Handler is responsible for daily operations of bailers used for salvage textiles. They are also responsible for equipment upkeep, and maintaining a clean, neat and safe work environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Operates baler to contain salvaged textiles: Removes incoming container to baler staging area; Transfer materials from storage truck to baler; Loads and operates baler according to established procedures; Unloads completed bales according to established procedures and places in holding areas; Moves bales from holding area to bale storage area; Transfer bales to tractor trailer from bale storage area using material handling equipment; Maintains bale storage area according to guidelines; Moves Gaylord containers to donated goods storage area. Job Description The Material Handler- Runner maintains efficient warehouse operations by moving product to and from various workstations, breaking down bales, and assisting with station clean-up. The position combines physical material handling with quality control. The Material Handler- Runner must have strong adherence to all safety policies and always wear all required personal protective equipment. The Material Handler- Runner will also sort and prepare the donated apparel to be able to sell in the salvage market when needed. The Warehouse Runner is responsible for production in the salvage department. This individual will sort, hang, tag, and label products according to standard operating procedures. Job Description The apparel sorter sorts and prepares the donated apparel to be able to sell in the salvage market. The Apparel Processor is responsible for production in the salvage department. This individual will sort, hang, tag, and label products according to standard operating procedures. Assist dock supervisor in overseeing the loading, unloading and distribution of donated materials from trailers and trucks. Assist supervisor in the following operations: Establish and maintain an efficient production pace; ensure that established standards of quality and quantity are being met by handlers; organize and monitor work flow on the loading dock and the salvage area; maintain a safe, clean work environment. Provide work direction by example and oral communication to handlers; oversee the activities of the dock in the absence of the supervisor; provide job and/or safety training to new employees under the direction of the supervisor. Ensure the maintenance and proper use of equipment, including hand trucks, forklifts, and the dump truck. Follow/train Red Tag procedures. Off-load truck and trailers by removing materials and placing in designated areas. Load trucks by placing materials in designated trucks.
