What You'll Do
* Understand and perform custodial functions as directed by Facility Director.
* Maintain cleanliness of building at all times.
* Cleaning, sanitizing, mopping, trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and grounds keeping.
* Maintain grounds in a safe manner and pleasing appearance according to the season.
* Maintain a safe environment for members and staff while performing work duties.
* Assist with room set up and breakdown, and snow removal as needed.
* Evaluate and report any health, safety or cleanliness issues to supervisor.
* Maintain an adequate inventory of custodial and maintenance supplies.
* Follow all Association and applicable safety standards when performing any tasks.
* Assist with maintaining all buildings and fire suppression inspections.
* Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

* Remove snow and ice and apply salt and/or ice melting products to steps and entryways at assigned buildings to a minimum distance of 10' or to the adjacent main walkway that's maintained by the grounds staff.
* Make minor repairs such as, but not limited specifically to, replacing sweeper belts or removing light fixture covers as required.
* Must be willing to learn new procedures and techniques for completing tasks when the college arranges training sessions.
* Must participate with overtime staff coverage, as needed, to address campus needs and will participate on the physical plant weekly "on-call" listing. Refusal to participate will be subject to disciplinary action.
* Additional job-related duties as required by the supervisor.
* Assist in loading and unloading trucks during major moves as required.
* Removes snow and ice from College roads, parking lots, sidewalks and steps.
* May perform athletic and event set-ups and break down as required.

Corporate Sites:
General Cleaning:
Clean and disinfect office spaces, conference rooms, and shared areas.
Dust and wipe down equipment, including screens, remotes, and projectors.
Reorganize furniture to the standard layout.
Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, counters, shelves and furniture.
Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors daily. Spot-clean entryways and lobbies throughout the day to address heavy foot traffic.
Organize and straighten up shared office items (i.e. chairs, desks).
Restroom Maintenance:
Sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies (soap, paper towels, and tissue).
Ensure restrooms are fully stocked and in clean, operable condition at all times.
Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, and countertops.
Polish mirrors and chrome fixtures.
Mop restroom floors with disinfectant and ensure they are dry to prevent slipping.
Breakrooms and Kitchens
Clean countertops, sinks, and tabletops.
Wipe down appliances, including microwaves, refrigerators, and coffee machines.
On a rotational schedule clean inside appliances and dispose of expired or no longer working content
Empty trash cans and replace liners.
Sweep and mop floors to remove food or drink spills
Reception and Lobby Areas
Dust and clean furniture, decorative items, and reception desks.

Waste Management:

■ Cleans and provides maintenance for lobbies, all hallways, offices, and restrooms. Ensures general cleanliness of stairwells, and other common areas of the building.
■ Performs emergency cleaning of leased units as assigned. EXAMPLE: Water heater, dishwasher, washing machine leaks requiring immediate water removal for safety of resident & staff.

■ Assists in maintaining building security, locking and unlocking access to apartment buildings.
■ Assists with office equipment moves and meeting set-up as needed.
■ Washes walls, windows, and woodwork with chemical cleaning solutions;
■ Periodically assist Maintenance Technician with Vacancy Turnaround: Any vacancy turnaround duties required by Property Management in order to prepare unit for new resident including, but not limited to the following: Removes trash and other debris from vacated housing units; Cleans stoves, refrigerators, and other appliances as needed; cleans and disinfects toilets, sinks, and bath tubs. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums floors using cleaning solutions, tools, and equipment. Washes walls, windows, and woodwork with chemical cleaning solutions; prepares housing units for painting as needed; and advises supervisor of necessary repairs identified when cleaning vacant units
